Honestly rollable phone just like with foldables is nothing but an unfinnished product with plenty of cons mostly durability of the main screen, hinge and lack of good specs compared to regular bar phones.

James.D, 01 Mar 2024Pop ups never really had that much in the way of durability... morepop up selfie cam may not experience that wearing issue. however if you use the front camera often everyday, it'll wear faster. same goes to the rollable phone. the mechanism is way too complex. might be trickier to repair than expected.

HyperionBurn, 28 Feb 2024practicality? no❌ coolness/flex to your friends? yes✅It can be practical though. Give it some more screen estate, and you get a legit tablet size. In other words, you can have three screen on one phone.

This makes me truly miss LG in the smartphone market. If they still around, the Rollable phone concept would've already gone on sale to the general public. It was like as if LG already knew deep down that foldable screen is not the future.

Rollable phones shouldn't exist until their screen durability becomes acceptable.
Book-style ones, okay. Flip ones? Useless now too.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2024This things are just gimmick as their screen are just soft ... moreThere's always a start of anything, even smartphone these days started from 3" touch displays or even smaller when Android / iOS started to boom.
You need dream to innovate and evolve, I don't see anything wrong at all with these innovations.

Darth Caesium, 28 Feb 2024Those were my thoughts as well. If the tiny display on the ... moreRegardless, I would love to see rollables come out to market. This could potentially even kill off the regular bar phone form factor for expensive flagships. If the compromises are little to none (cameras being the biggest deciding factor for me personally), then I'd gladly replace my Google Pixel 7 Pro for one of these, no matter the brand.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2024This things are just gimmick as their screen are just soft ... moreCompared to a foldable that requires a 'full fold', its pretty much easily possible to make a glass covered rollable. Rollables need a much gentler 'fold', totally possible to reach. (U can see on Youtube that even Gorilla glass screens close to possible to handle it yet they not even designed to do so)

I don't know why, but I thought "rollable" meant it would flex and bend like a piece of paper.
The concept is cool though

Anton el .PAPI, 28 Feb 2024this is called filler presentation, for marketing purposes ... moreit's a concept phone, just like in the car industry they present concept cars that are never going to see the light of day, to show of what they're capable of and increase their stock prices from the word of mouth that they will generate due to it...
