I doubt standard S4 can live at depth for half an hour, but still.. Looks like it'd survive a slip into the sink/toilet/shower, while a $15 rubber case can handle the accidental drops for you.

Anyway, it'd be best if Samsung offered the regular model as IP67 certified, similar to what Sony does. Why should any1 have 2 purchase a separate phone 4 it 2 be immune to the elements? Ideally, all phones should be dust n water proof, given d fact the no. of handsets which get damaged each year cos of accidental water contact! V live in a water world, makes perfect sense to have water proof devices n d tech is alrdy available to really waterproof components at d chip level, not this external cosmetic "Waterproofing"! Once tech like Liquipel n others get widely adopted v won't need 2 buy separate bulky dust n waterproof sets anymore!

However,there is no way for the activ to sport 13mp camera and an amoled screen.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Almost every tradesman buying a smartphone will also take a case to protect it from the higher chances of damage at work. Who wouldn't want a more robust version which is almost identical with the peace of mind that moisture is covered too!
