Darth Caesium, 05 Mar 2024Samsung has lost the plot. These spec increases are too lit... moreSamsung is relying too much on their brand value and an image of being iPhone of Android (self proclaimed) and it becomes a reason to overprice their phones. The upgrades are little each year, clearly inspired by apple. But they forgot that they make android phones, and here, options are in plenty, so the moment other brand offers better specs, it's game over

You're on a forum about mobile phones, writing complaints that there's a company selling mobile phones.
Take a step back and read your own comments. That reflection would be useful to you.

Darth Caesium, 05 Mar 2024Samsung has lost the plot. These spec increases are too lit... moreA leaked promotional image of the A55 stated that it starts at 8 ram up to 12 ram though. There's also a russian youtuber that got hold of the phone early and stated that it is in fact true.

I dont understand... even A25 starting with 6GB RAM ... isn't that a typo?

Ight, why are we still doing 6GB RAM in 2024..?
8GB is the minimum for a midranger
The 57383 years of updates are pointless if the phone can't keep up because of the lack of RAM

Darth Caesium, 05 Mar 2024Samsung has lost the plot. These spec increases are too lit... moreThat's why the Chinese origin phones is better in this segment (below $500).
In the premium segment (over $1000), although Samsung may be not the best in all, at least it builts a consistent better phone in all.

So 6.6 inch after all. It was previously assumed it would be 6.5. it may even use the same display as A35.

Darth Caesium, 05 Mar 2024Samsung has lost the plot. These spec increases are too lit... moreWith your demands for technologies that aren't even available on premium models like the S24 or iPhone 15, you don't seem to understand that the Galaxy A range is aimed at the mid-range. When do we need 12GB of RAM on a device that doesn't have a particularly powerful graphics chip? Or a flexible screen? If you want that sort of thing, go and pay double the price of the A55...

Weren't displays in Samsung phones supposed to become "slightly smaller in the future" according to leaks? Why are they still increasing?

Samsung has lost the plot. These spec increases are too little, too late. The screen still isn't bright enough compared to the competition (went from 800nits peak to 950nits peak in 4 years); the RAM capacity is a joke (especially the 6GB version why does this exist AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!); it's still using UFS 2.2 when many mid-rangers have switched to UFS 3.1, and still starts at 128GB; the display has had ridiculously thick bezels since the A52/A52s, with the A51 having much slimmer bezels than any of the newer A5x phones; the cameras have barely changed, with only the main camera getting minor improvements with the A54 and staying unchanged with the A55, and the ultrawide and selfie have been the exact same since the A52/A52s; the chip performance has only improved this generation, while battery life has barely budged due to worse efficiency compared to Qualcomm; and yet with all this, the price has gone up from $400 to $500. It's one saving grace is that OneUI is still bloated, though it's improved a lot nonetheless and the performance is actually a lot better now, but all of this gives no real edge since even the A52/A52s have the updated OneUI.
Samsung should've given the phone:
•A 6.5" Flexible AMOLED screen with an 88% head-to-body-ratio and a 1400nit peak brightness
•12GB of RAM
•256GB of UFS3.1 storage
•The new 13MP selfie camera that the cheaper phones have, since that one's actually really good
•Autofocus on the ultrawide for macro
•A regular frame rather than this weird design where the part of the frame that has the power and volume buttons are curved while the rest of the frame is flat
•Remove the 5MP macro sensor (duh!)
•A proper under-display proximity sensor
Of course, for any of this to happen, Samsung has to make a better flagship series as well, since some of what I've done here undercuts the S24 and S24+. That's because I think it's inexcusable to not have autofocus on the ultrawide of a flagship, and I expect the difference between flagships and mid-rangers to instead be that flagships have macro on their telephotos, and most mid-rangers naturally lack telephotos due to their expensive nature.
