Quicktime is the main reason I dont like to watch Apple keynote. I have to install a big and slow app just to use it for keynote and Apple website. Other than that it do nothing else just sitting there wasting storage space.

I prefer VLC but Quicktime has for years been the player of choice for movie studios with Mp4.

Actually Quicktime is very slow to open and use and heavy compared to Windows Media Player (which is very fast, near instant, to open). I gotta hand it down to Microsoft for WMP, it's a very fast music player with a great quality sound. It doesn't do everything but it's much more organized than Quicktime. I don't believe someone is insulting everything about Apple when they say that quicktime isn't good. We just don't really like quicktime.
