A new 1-inch type sensor from OmniVision with a variable aperture and class-leading dynamic range.

OmniVision back at it again with the top class sensors! Give Samsung a run for their money, producing subpar 200 mp sensors that are just there for the numbers. And to provide real competition to Sony so they actually innovate instead of rebranding sensors as "Lytia" and relying on processing to improve light gathering capabilities instead of actually providing better quality sensors. f/1.4 is shallow af but f/2.0 does not make any sense at all, especially for a 1 inch sensor. Even the S9 had f/1.5-f/2.4. Hope this is just a first gen product (for Honor at least) issue that'll get innovated on next year properly. We need proper variable aperture. This doesn't mean jacksh*t for anyone. The RX 100 goes to like f/4.5 and that's cheaper than the Magic 6 Ultimate with better zoom and stuff so yeah, aperture needs to be wider.

On paper it's the best camera sensor for dynamic range. Unfortunately, though Honor seems to have cut the sensor to around 1/1.3". Not sure if it's something to do with the 27mm lens rather than the typical 23mm lens many use for the main camera and the F1.4 aperture. Anyway will be interesting to see how omnivision's new top sensor performs

        ugly

What an ugly back this phone has...

So there'll be some actual camera hardware changes compared to the Pro, after all. Nice

                Impressive.
