As others have already pointed out, this has nothing to do with privacy.
Even if you're somehow so brainwashed to think that the Chinese government is stealing all your data whereas the US government isn't.
This is about big daddy US being upset that someone else is making money and trying to force/bully them into selling out, which would truly make a monopoly.

This whole thing is not about banning TikTok, it is about protecting Meta's and other companies' market share by either banning TikTok in the US (which definitely lead to other loyal countries doing the same) or by acquiring TikTok and putting it kext to the other American social media platforms.
