Motorola Edge 50 Pro to come with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, launch date leaks

The phone, which is also expected to launch as X50 Ultra or Edge+ (2024), will arrive on April 3.

I am not sure which news to belive, will theyu really lower their flagship price to 700USD and release it with Snapdragon 7 gen 3, the Edge XX Pro always had Snapdragon 8, like my 2022 Edge 30 Pro SD 8 Gen 1, 12RAM fast enough UFS and RAM speed, I was considering replacing only for the SD 8 Gen 3 Soc + Adreno 750, not that I play games and my 8 gen 1-Adreno 730 isn't smashing everything I throw at it and they have Ready For, like Samsung Dex- I connect it to a Monitor and use it like a laptop, I watch my movies , YouTube all in 4K, it has a flat screen and the only downside is the battery cannot be compared to my previous mid-range motorola G8 Power, this phone was so great for the budget price, I never saw a phone to cary on 3 days+3 nights, real 3 day battery mid-usage, the Power budged models had amazing battery, so I went back to Moto for the Edge 30 Pro at 2022 and I don't regret it. I like motorola since these 2 phones and I was going to get the 50 Pro, if it was available when my plamn is due in July. However aedge 50 Pro with Snapdragon 7 and curved OLED is not replacng my SD 8 with flat screen and same RAM and Camera, I really hope they don't do this, or come up with edge 50 Ultra, but this was an exception to finetune the SD 8 gen 1 adding SD8+ gen 1. We will see I guess, but yes, every smartphone has a modern version of Bluetooth, if you are not messing around:)

    This phone is available in India on Flipkart from 03rd Apr 2024. Motorola will provide 3 years of OS updates as mentioned on Flipkart.

          I love moto device but don't buy them aa they don't provide os update, only one they give. At least 3 required.

            I had Motorola Edge 30 then X40 but I will pass on the X50/Edge 50+ because of the terrible ability to release security updates and OS upgrades. Also - a curved screen? 2018 wants its tech back. Shame because Moto OS is great.

              Some times phone is too laggy I am having moto edge 40, And USB charging is not working as well as average camera in terms of competition

                I Won´t buy another Motorola flagship until they get better and faster update policy. I don´t expect any less than 4 OS support. Until then it´s a pass for me

                    But for those who don't use screen protectors, don't read ebooks or a stylus (like me) I'm happy that at least ONE manufacturer still gives us the option.

                    For all of you that prefer flat screens: be happy, you have LOTS of options :)

                        What a disappointment, it won't be a real top.
                        Even the camera department won't be top notch (I wasn't expecting ultra specs, though...)
                        In the render you can see that the pixel size of the main camera is 2 microns (in pixel binning), so it will use, for the third consecutive year, ov50a of 1/1.55 ​​and not the last one, like the other competitors ov50h of 1/ 1.28 with pixels of 2.4 (in pixel binning).
                        The camera department has never been its strong point but until last year it was still adequate for a top of the range (not ultra), unlike what some users say.

                          I applaud Edge 50 Pro, but I'll not buy it. I'm disappointed that Motorola doesn't sell any accessories for its flagship phones in the UK (case, screen protector, dock, charger etc.). I'm Edge 30 Ultra user and until now there's no accessories for it or other Edge series. Thank you Motorola.

                            [deleted post]Yeah, this makes sense. Motorola is basically a relatively small brand. An expensive flagship from them would sell very much so they may as well focus on making a cost effective one like this that had very solid specs all round.

                                taurus-555, 18 Mar 2024still curved screen ? wow motorola...youre so behing...It's hard to find screen protectors for this types of screens. And the distortions on the side make me add margins to ebooks so they can be easily read. Not to mention using stylus on curved screens is dumb since you lose additional space due to sloping sides.

If you want sd and 3.5 jack (know you're one of the ones always bringing it up) then cool, neither ARE needed now with how good the usb port is (sorry but its facts, all those features do is add weakness to the shell and add costs now but aome people are old school so fair enough).

                                  Dont use the "curved screens shatter" rubbish, mine didnt when basically being punched in to the floor by my mate whos 6"1 and has 19 inch biceps and trained as an american footballer (lived there for a bit) and a fitness trainer, just a couple cracks and it was on concrete (he dropped it by accident and tried to catch it, hes pretty clumsy) yet ive seen him drop his iphone 12 from 2 foot off the ground, landed flat yet the screens completely done (which hes had fixed and its left with multiple input/mis touch issues). ITS NOT TRUE CURVED SCREENS ARE WEAKER, again look at what huawei are doing.

                                    Yeah everything is starting to look like an iphone now and get sold the illusion of flat screens being harder to break (ive lost track of people i know with broken iphone screens all the way from the 3gs to the latest iphone 15). Glad moto arent dumbing down to the terrible trend and losing personality (ive got to say, if the 50 pro is released in that silver then I'd want one, reminds me of the old HTC phones or LG g5, got a camera island like the find x3/x5 series, its great).

                                      A better quality screen IF it gets pantone graded screen and if it ups its resolution to 1220p (keeps dolby vision too) its an upgrade. Probably either the same main sensor with slight improvements or a one step up sensor for the main, probably slight upgrades to other cams too (maybe adds ois to a cam that didnt have it etc).

                                      Oh is it the curved screen that that the few ALWAYS bring up to cause trouble, probably (noticed no one else actually cares if its flat or curved its always the exact same few that also bring up "no jack, no sd slot, no buy"... Yeah... *yawns in boredom*).

                                        Dear Lenovo, needs 4+5 years support for flagships and 3+4 years for mid range phone.
