Samsung Galaxy A35 battery life test

20 March 2024
Unsurprisingly, a 5,000mAh battery does a good job.

So what that means? Should all non-Chinese brands just shut their bussiness? I guess so. Why? Because Chinese phones are better in eVeRYtHiNg and at the same time they are far cheaper. Right...

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2024How A35 has better battery life than A54 when they both hav... moreThis is done by underclocking the cpu like google pixel. running at full speed would overheat and drain real quick. so basically, you may get 60% of the entire cpu power while resulting in less heat and battery drain. just to hide its weakness of exystove. while average joe would not notice it, while scrolling on their facebook and tiktok..

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2024And their displays are the worst. Soneone i know got burn i... moreperhaps they play games at max brightness. hence the burn in issue.

For a 400 eur device said results are horrible.

LoneOwl, 20 Mar 2024I am once again confused with these results. Galaxy A35 ... moreIt won't be the first time Samsung tweaked the software to make a device look better than it is. Next sw update (or straight out of the box, if GSMArena got "special" device)
and we will see completely different results

            Awesome, Samsung is the best

Hemedans, 20 Mar 2024First neither 8 gen 1 nor E2200 had 4Lpp they have differen... moreIt doesnt matter if its not 4lpp, you posted a source claiming 8g1 was actually just rebranded 5nm, but 2200 was actual 4nm. But 8g1 matches 2200 efficiency.

Im not talking about benchmark scores, but the efficiency curves you can see on socpk. Again 8+g1 is better efficiency.

Node comparison is ok if both have same cores and by same soc maker, its just your use of sd vs mtk for claiming superioity of samsung 5nm over tsmc 6nm that is the problem. You took the one soc maker with better efficiency that happened be on samsung node with a worse one on tsmc node.

1989 nothinghappened, 20 Mar 20248g1 is just mentioned there to show sd has about the same e... moreFirst neither 8 gen 1 nor E2200 had 4Lpp they have different node but both are inferior to 4Lpp so is 4 gen 2.

Second the difference between 8+ gen 1 and D9000 is just rounding error, in any benchmarks, anywhere difference below 10% is nothing to talk about,

Third all soc with same cores there sd 695, 4 gen 1, 4 gen 2, D920, 780, 778G etc show almost same cpu curve there may be difference but really small, at same time all cpu with better Manufacturing process and same core shows superior perfomance, like D8100 is above all those cpu, if this don't show tier of manufacturing process I don't know what else will.

The clock speed has seen a downtick compared to the A34 (2.6GHz vs 2.4GHz), but the Dimensity 1080 had 2 performance and 6 efficiency cores, versus 4 performance and 4 efficiency cores on the Exynos 1380.

Hemedans, 20 Mar 20248g1 and 2200 use different manufacture process as i linked ... more8g1 is just mentioned there to show sd has about the same efficiency even with the supposedly rebranded 5nm vs actual 4nm on 2200. 8+g1 vs 9000 was to show sd has higher efficiency when both on same node. So sd 4g2 having higher efficiency vs d920 isnt really a good example of node comparison.

A34 is just fine. Yes, it has that Infinity-U cutout, but it's very small. The bigger incovenience for me would be the fact that, it's just a bit too big for my liking (basically the size of S2x+ series), but you can get used to it with one handed mode, customisable gestures and such.

Now, A35 is heavier than its predecessor by 10g. Slap a case on top of that and you get a throwable brick lol. Battery life is amazing anyway, so if you have A34 / A54... there's no reason to upgrade. Unless you would like an even bulkier device lol

Using my A34 and enjoying it. This is not even worth an upgrade as yet.

kinda weird to see a54 losing to a35 on battery test which has bigger screen than a54 while they both have Same chipset and same battery..(I wonder if one ui 6 is better optimized on a35 than a54)

1989 nothinghappened, 20 Mar 20248g1 vs 2200? Infact 8g1 prime is higher clocked, but better... more8g1 and 2200 use different manufacture process as i linked before, am talking about comparison between sd and Mtk, both 8+ gen 1 vs D9000 and 8 gen 2 vs 9200 have almost same curve at low power then different at high power, even that difference at high power isnt much to mean anything, so my point nowadays same core at same manufacturing process means nothing it will be same. Until Oryon cores come out.

PartTimePhoner, 20 Mar 2024And why would they do that? They aren't selling any phones.Paid reviews is a thing you know. Specially when Samsung has been trying for years to wash the image of their Exynos chipsets.

I am happy to see that Samsung has fixed the efficiency problem that the Exynos SoCs are notorious for. However, the stand-by and modem power consumption could be better considering A15 has 45 hours of call endurance.

In addition, I would like to see another test with A34 limited to LTE because rather high power consumption during calls (compared to A15) may be due to 5G.
