I've moved from Android to iPhone and noticed very few restrictions, and although I don't use any of their services other than to get obscure movies and music, I can do everything I did with my old Pixel. iTunes has gone, it looks like this is just about their app store.
Why suppress the only alternative to Android?

Lol, just, lol.
I was not lucky enough to rightfully comprehend and get fully used to the apples platform, and thus was not neither their customer, nor constant user, and obviously a no fan, of course.
I sheerly believed it was solely my fault, i regarded myself being a bit of a dumb for such modern and innovative platform, no joke here. Everyday tasks were harder for me to fulfill with iPhone than with Android, but i never believed it was apples fault. And i was never ever bothered by the green bubble, lol!
I'm also not into streaming music services, because they won't stream ever what i listen to.
But going into such serious legal action was... hardly expected. It's just a business after all, and American companies are very avidly and professionally into such kind of things, like "business shark" and all. No way ever any business company would possibly consider the poor end user interests, not even one.
With small exception of Huawei, maybe! 🫣 And a tiny bit of other Chinese brands ☺️

I don’t even like Apple, but this is beyond stupid. Companies can’t even do with their stuff as they will. It’s like they’re forcing people to buy their phones. Don’t like iMessage, additional functionality between Apple devices, etc.? Well, don’t buy an iPhone. See, it’s easy. Don’t like their process when it comes to which apps are allowed or not? Well, don’t make apps fro iPhone or comply. Do whatever you want and allow them to do the same. Same thing as few years ago, when Microsoft was under fire because Internet Explorer was the default choice. Well, it’s their freaking operating system, why shouldn’t they be allowed to put their own products on it? This is getting ridiculous, frankly. Same thing with iPhone’s chargers. Get a different phone or just so what you need to do if you insist on iPhone. How is that so hard to understand? What’s next? Will we force BMW to make switching to Mercedes infotainment easy and one minute work? Will they also have to make steering wheels compatible with Renault, because some people might prefer that? Will every car sold from now on have to have atleast 5 doors and be able to reach 250 mp/h? Because god forbid some products have additional capabilities.

But Android users are also at fault for supporting them. 🤣

many apple fans won't understand what it is! Because imagine paying whole lotta money e.g for an iphone and you are limited in many scenarios when will you stop carrying "everythng apple" not that its what you want but because you don't have another option... "Monopoly"

Apple affects everyone, from casual users to government. As smartphones has a key role in modern society , smartphone Operating system can impact everyone from various developers to casual people and government.So that's the case...If some kind of tech corp has a huge share in market it can manipulate standards and have huge impact on society while society can't in most cases, except voting with wallets, but modern marketing mitigates that easily. So that's different than razor blades or gaming consoles...

You know what's funny?
All the people supporting government action against Apple would do the same as Apple if they were working for them or were shareholders. It's good for business. People just care about themselves.
Freedom comes first. If you force Apple then it means you are willing to let others force YOU to do something. It's just an evil spiral.
