24 March 2024
It's larger than you may have expected, but it may be just what people were hoping for - a cheaper ROG Phone.

kriskret, 27 Mar 2024there is no phone , no metter what , worth more tha... moreWhile most of $250 phones these days are really great, there are reasons to spend more depending on your use case. The more expensive ones have higher performance in specific things like photography, watching movies, or gaming. I don't think its fair to say no phone should be worth $250 or less (THOUGH IT WOULD BE SOOOO NICE) as certain people may have specific needs of higher performance hardware. It is great that the number of people to whom a $250 phone would be all they need is increasing however, being able to spend less and get all the functionality you want is great.

As far as this Oneplus phone goes, seems pretty good, though I've not seen it in person

This is the ultra version, a smaller version will still be coming im sure. The last model wasnt called ultra was it.

Azu10157, 25 Mar 2024I can't imagine using 4GB RAM on a Windows computer. 64gb emmc is even worse.

Nope, I would have loved to buy it if it was compact (in dimensions) as Zenfone 10 or 9

Azu10157, 25 Mar 2024I can't imagine using 4GB RAM on a Windows computer. Its horrible.

No, specs are mediocre and not competitive

Using zenfone 10 and quite sastified with this phone, good battery life, good display, speaker, perform smooth and fast, but i dont like the UI so barebone and lack of feature and the launcher look ugly, the 2 years update policy is hurting the phone and add to it asus now wont allow unlock bootloader anymore, i think this will be my last asus phone despite i like their phone

Minu, 25 Mar 2024Acer phones looked much better than these giraffes, lolspeaking of acer, they pretty much stopped making phones a long ago. i do have the acer liquid z220 laying in my drawer. trying to find the proper battery is a challenge though 😅😅 it's not mine but my cousin's.

It's just a more boring, although cheaper, ROG phone. Not even a compact phone anymore which was THE reason to buy a Zenfone. With the hardware being just okay and the update frequency and length still being guesswork, I would never get this one. And so far, the issues with my Zenfone 8 I recently replaced don't even play a role in my decision that this is not very interesting.

Even if I didn't own the Zenfone 10, which I intend to use for 2 more years (the 512GB storage certainly helps), I wouldn't get this phone. The main reason I switched to Asus is the size. I know the S24 is the same size, but having larger bezels and a smaller screen may not be great design wise, but I think it improves the handling of the phone.
The second reason being the design as I really like the colours and the haptics of the Zenfone 10.
                                    Third reason was battery life.
With two of the main reasons gone (albeit the second one is very subjective, but I find this phone indcredibly ugly) I couldn't care less about getting this phone and remain mainly puzzled by Asus' strategy and their lack of informationen if they will continue the compact line or not.

I don't even use ASUS phones, I used one of their laptops before being a W202N which is just base model specs 64GB eMMC storage, 4GB of RAM and a Intel Celeron N3350.
