Google apps are worst they eat more RAM.
only custom ROM users know there exist fdroid and have many apps which are battery efficient and less RAM eaters

But having a better app is not enough, there is a reason why the other 90% of my non US contacts (I am from EU) use WhatsApp.
All my US contacts use iMessage only, so we talk via SMS or calls because I don't have a iPhone (I do have a iPad but refuse to carry it around just for that)
Good app is not enough and this was proven many times, which is sad but that is how it works.

Another useless feature. I never pin because I delete everything as soon as I read, but let's say I want to pin. That is none of your business to give it a duration and unpin it automatically. I want to pin it for forever. And also, is pinning 3 messages best you can do? Why not unlimited? Which I won't use.
Instead, Mr. SugarMountain should try to fix the app. Why can't I edit a message on another device? Am I not the one who sent it? Am I trying to edit someone else's messages?
