Refreshed Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) launches quietly with a new chipset

25 March 2024
The original Tab S6 Lite is from 2020, there was a 2022 model, this is the third iteration. It comes with Wi-Fi and LTE flavors and has an LCD screen with S Pen support.

Anonymous, 25 Mar 2024They gonna confuse the non techy crowds in the used markets... moreWill be S6 2024 so not really

I just got a tab s9 for 400 that should be the price of the tab s9, I think the tab s6(24) is a really bad value, but as Samsung Is the only tablet maker besides Microsoft and Apple (which both run different OS). I wish Xiaomi had their tablets here, but Samsung is the only Andriod Tablet option, sad.

Likely a miss. If it had eMMC 5.1 then it's a total flop. Probably can't even render 1440p drawings. The S Pen matching the color is a cool addition. You'd be better off buying XPPen's own tablet with a pen included, glove, matte screen protector for paper feeling but the chipset is T616 IIRC.

Or just buy a Tab S7 FE with a powerful 778G if your lucky. If you don't want standalone and save money, Huion Kamvas 12 is like 250 USD. Wacom tablets are overpriced to be honest and only for pros.

TL;DR, wait for reviews (if we get any), avoid S7 FE with 750G, Alternatives can be Huion Kamvas, XP-Pens Artist series and Wacom One maybe.

If they released this tablet under S9 Lite naming, bet someone would comment something like this:
"S9 Lite? It's not even much improvement from S6 Lite from 2 years ago! E-waste!"
(I mean technically it is lol)

Even the Tab A9 has 8gb RAM option. This should have too.
And the price should be much lower considering the options like pad 6 from Xiaomi and others.

potato4k, 25 Mar 2024LOL. I don't understand with Samsung's obsession ... moreYeah, it is a bit confusing and will be a bit of a pain for the pre-owned market..

I'm guessing that one part is a desire to keep the branding so that only S-series tablets are the ones with S-pen functionality?
And then the reason to keep it as S6 lite rather than increasing the number helps to emphasise the gap in processing power between it and the latest S9 tablets - so that they can avoid the potential scenario of someone going "why buy this £750 S9 base model when the S9 lite is sooo much cheaper?"

Terrible. Nothing released in 2024 should have eMMC storage or less than 128GB of storage, and nothing should have less than 6GB of RAM. The only exceptions, of course, should be £70 e-waste phones, and even they often have more than 4GB of RAM.

                LCD still... 😕

So the title should be S6 "lite"🤔

Offloading excess Exynos stocks? They did the same thing with the Exynos 9610 a while back.

They gonna confuse the non techy crowds in the used markets space. 🤣

LOL. I don't understand with Samsung's obsession with the S6 branding. They're already at S9. Why not call this S8 lite? Or even call it A9 Pro? At least it will resemble better with the current lineup. People seeing this S6 will already think that it's a very old model.

In a couple of months we are going to get the Tab S10 series, so why not call this, Tab S9 Lite or Tab S10 Lite? What's the point of keeping an old name?

If the base variant was 128/6 it would've been more appealing

Same strategy as vanilla ipad for long time.

The original came out in 2019

                                  No 5G? Oh dear.
