WhatsApp will finally let you send HD media automatically

Until they stop considering 720p as HD for video, this is useless. We're in 2024. Most phones can record 4k and some even 8k

        The british goverment members have had multiple leaks of their whatsapp chats over and over (how they found out they were all partying while telling their citezens to stay at home during the height of covid), it just isnt secure at all.

        Telegram is a multitude of times more secure and actually overall is a more enjoyable app to use (and you get as many randos messaging you about business propositions aka trying to steal your data), whatsapp feels about 2 years behind every other messaging app at this point and its pretty ridiculous how long it actually takes to send pocture files at non HD level (must be atleast 5 times slower than any other messaging app ive used)

              Delete even messenger..
              And us only google messages and google meet .. it is all exactly same ..no difference
              ANd it is stock ...

                  IMX363, 27 Mar 2024That's good, but it should be set to "HD" by... moreNormal users don't have issues with the non-HD photos. All they care is sharing their photos quickly (not all regions have fast cellular connection). Google Messages RCS also defaulted to reducing quality of photos to send it quicker.

                  I do agree that Whatsapp should provide the option to send original file of the photo untouched.

                      That's good, but it should be set to "HD" by default, as an average user will never set it themselves in the options.

                      They also need to add the third option to the "HD" menu, the "Original" option, that sends the original image with EXIF and everything.

                      I know a user can send it through the "Document" > "Choose from gallery" now, but it's not really optional.

                      And while they are at it, they should also rename that "HD" and just call it "Quality".

                                  Just imagine having a flagship camera phone and you can't even upload HD status. Waste of a good camera. This feature needs to be added too.
