Poco F6 chipset and camera details revealed

27 March 2024
A few weeks ago we heard that the F6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, this is now confirmed by HyperOS source code.

This changed though with Poco X6 pro, which kind of makes Poco F6 a bit irrelevant/bad buy if it is way more expensive, even though a Snap8gen 2 or 8s gen3 will be very strong performance wise.

the most notorious are software features like always on or samsung dex which the lower end doesn't have it even though the hardware is fully capable of it

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2024So it would save more money if you put just one good camera... morethey did that already though, imx882 is decent enough for realme 12 pro (not plus) and f6 is only $50 more expensive with over 3x chipset performance

LoneOwl, 27 Mar 2024Thats the Poco X6 pro man. Poco F6 will be way more expensive.well yeah the f6 will be like 350/400usd, which is like regular midranger price

The chipset itself was launched to keep video recording specs in control, on midrange/Flagship killer phones.

8s Gen 3 is claiming 4K60 HDR and 1080p240, which:-
                1. is weak for its huge GPU. Even Snapdragon 855/865 from 2019 could beat it.
                2. will be further diluted on phones, get ready to see 4K30 & 1080p60 in actual chinese phones. Let's see what Poco F6 manages.

Meanwhile Sony's SD 865 implementation (Sony 1 II) did 4K120 in year 2020, just cause its expensive.
Does chipset even matter? or the entire chipset industry is just playing on adjustable performance sliders?

And they've removed all reference of video recording resolution and framerate from Qualcomm website, regarding SD865 & 855's 4K120 mode... Who will do that?
I am even more paranoid now. Someone is controlling the entire industry.

Redmi Note Turbo product line will be renamed. There's no Note 13 Turbo this year.

poco f6 is for people who just want almost flagship performance, battery and display at a cheap price. basically its a gaming phone without being a gaming phone
xiaomi 14t is gonna be for people who want that + a good camera

                        8MP UW + 2MP Macro in 2024 💀
                        My nightmare

still using 8MP ultrawide, this is to reduce costs so we can enjoy flagship performance at low prices. At least the main camera is quite good... with a capable ISP from the SD 8 series.
