So, now is the iPhone 12 mini also supports the Qi2 15W wireless charging after this update?
Also, can someone please confirm the same 15W wireless charging with Qi2 on the iPhone 13 mini as well???
Those who are 100% sure please do reply.
    Thanks in advance...

potato4k, 29 Mar 2024Apple contributing and using global charging standard: booo... moreYou can still use open standards with Chinese wireless charging. But why would you charge at 15w when you can charge at 50w-70w by purchasing a charger from the manufacturer. Most people who buy iPhones buy a charger from Apple when purchasing their iPhones. How is this any different?

Your being very dismissive and reductive

Pushing to mass production rarer (in the smartphone industry)battery chemistry:
                      Honor details Magic 6 Pro's second-generation silicon

They are not just splitting the battery physically but they are also making the current itself flow in parallel.. check out what MTT charge is..

They are going out of their way manufacturing chipset just for charging itself

They are trying to raising charge cycles standards to 1600

Implementing bigger vapor champers and in niche cases like Nubia having physical fans to support the fast charging

Even in instances where Chinese OEMs didn't even the technology they help pioneer the technology to bring t to market

If all of this still doesn't convince you just remember if they aren't doing anything special then what does that say about apple and Samsung

IpsDisplay, 29 Mar 2024Chinese OEMs are justified to use proprietary technology ... moreThe Chinese ar not doing anything fancy. All they did was dividing the battery into two parts and charge both at the same time. That's how they can claim 100W charging. It's not charging a single battery at 100W, but it's charging two batteries at 50W each. But obviously it requires proprietary cable and charger.

We already have fast charging standard. It's called USB-PD. It is being used on laptops as well. And for wireless, we have qi 2 that also includes magsafe like connectivity. I'll take an open standard anytime over some proprietary BS.

Reason being because fast charging technology has not yet reached that /maturity as yet

Let's look at an example of the past:

Remember when everyone laughed at Samsung for pioneering phablet sized screens? That was the experimentation era .. and now designs have converged

Now is the time for all the experimentations, battery chemistry etc

Remember, iPhones lack features not because Apple can’t put them…. it’s because they don’t want to. Small global share, yet it’s the highest valued tech company in the world???
