There are things that Apple still does better and Apple Watch faces, even though i can't install 5000 billion badly made one from market, the ones that are available are highly customizable and also carry over their looks exactly to AOD mode, just with more black background and mildly dimmer. Galaxy Watch 4 is close, but its watch faces are so limited and often totally nonsensical for no logical reason. Like for example some Samsung's own watch faces that look nice but don't allow me to place a date complication at 3 o'clock. I can put Fitness crap, I can put weather there, but not date. WHY? It's why I'm angry that some make really sloppy reviews that have no important information in them. Or am I the only one who absolutely demands AOD because I can't stand ugly blank watch on my wrist? And the rest of you are just fine with whatever? I don't get it.

Your claim is especially funny considering I'm wearing a Galaxy Watch 4 and I also have Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro, but also have Apple Watch 5. Sit down and stop talking nonsense.

On-display bezels are completely unnecessary and their persistence is inexplicable; it is a total waste of valuable on screen space. Losing 30% + of the surface to a blacked out perimeter is absurd.

One more "smart" device that needs to be charged every day if used with all the bells and whistles (and what's the point of wearing one if you don't!?)
At least, unlike Samsung, this one have faster charging, so that one could be a +.
But old software and Xiaomi's famously bad sensors is something that couldn't made me wear it even if I get paid to do it.
I don't understand why would anyone spend money on it??
Just go ahead and buy Mi Band if you want to support Xiaomi...and that could be only reason to buy anything from them, just supporting them, because this and MIUI(no matter how they call it today) are really reasons enough to not even consider nothing from them ever.

Also of all, Apple's watch faces are the most configurable and consistent. You can change complications whatever way you like and AOD will reflect that. Meanwhile on Galaxy Watch, some are like that, others are weirdly dim and while there is 5 billion watch faces, literally 3/4 of them are pure trash, those few that exist are paid and they randomly disappear from watch store which is super infuriating. You pay for it, use it some and next time you want to reinstall it, that watch face doesn't exist anymore. So stupid.

If you want a watchface with virtually no info, to save battery, you get that. If you want a watchface that looks pretty much the same as the active watchface, you get that. Great choice by Xiaomi to release a more affordable WearOS device.
The biggest dealbreaker for me is the usual suspect, the battery life.
1.5-2 day battery just isnt enough, especially in the long run where battery will wear out from many charges and updates, it will barely last a day.

Come on guys, can you be any more vague than "It has always-on display support" ?
Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro has "always-on display support", but the active watch faces are in 99% of cases nothing like what's then displays on AOD and it's horrendous looking. You have this cool looking dial and when it switches to AOD it's just some generic boring digital or analog watch face shared by 50 other watch faces. And I've seen same problem on more expensive smart watches two. You have to be more detailed about AOD aspect and it would require you just saying whether it has support for AOD and if normal active watch face and AOD watch face match in looks or not. Apple Watches always do, so does Galaxy Watch 4, but I only know this from my very own experience. Finding this info online is next to impossible because reviewers are always so vague and uninterested about it. Like come on.
