Playing clash of lords since 2014 and can honestly say no phone with 2GB ram and 8 or 16GB storage would run that game no matter what in 2024.

All mid range phone have same camera set up, no new improvement , like telephoto.

Up to the Nord CE3 things were fine but this one seems to be more of a downgrade instead of an upgrade. To much compromise this time.

Do you think a SD 8 gen 3 is a new yes its a new but will not run forever.
In 5-7 years apps and latest games of taht time will be too powerfull to run smoothly without any issues on such CPU and GPU.
For example try to run Diablo Immortal on Samsung S9 plus. Will not works. S10 plus have major issues to run that game and thats a exactly 5 years old flagship grade device.
Love those people who acting like they know everything.
Try to run world of tanks or league of legends on a computer which had in 2008 when game were released enough good specs to run whole game on full details with a 30 or less FPS.
I tell you what happens you wont enter the battle nor menu of game.

It's nice that they're at least giving it instead of giving the generic box with a charger and many pamphlets, or giving nothing at all.

This would be the perfect phone for my wife. But then again a pixel 7a is just 50€ more and, well...she will for sure go for a pixel and not any oneplus with "CE4" in its name...

I would go for Moto edge 50 pro.
They have promised a good update schedule for future, at least for this one. I have been avoiding Moto just due to their unpredictable updates policy. But this one seems better compared to past.
Other option will be Samsung phone A series(25,35,55).
I have always disliked OnePlus phones. Purely because of the habit of Hype and intimal reluctance to accept that they are part of BBK.

you just described the redmi A3 or any phone with Helio G37 and G36. which has android 14 forcibly shoved to 2018 hardware that are designed to run properly on older android versions.. with 2020 to 2024 midrange hardware it's all good to go.

They sell midrangers with jacks and no sd card slots but then you "move up" to the PRO equivalent and you get none of those two.

I used to change phones too often but nothing comes even close to the Nokia I had a decade ago, that thing was awesome, built like a typical nokia (tank), small sized and easy to pocket and hold.
Phones these days are a massive disappointment in some ways, way too fragile and big, can't put them in pocket comfortably, can't use one handedly, have to put on addition cases, protection etc. Such a hassle
So now I rarely waste money on phones. That's a good thing in a way. But yea, phones are too damn big now it's really ridiculous how big they've become. Phone makers have no sense. Human hands don't grow with display size. Beyond a certain point, it's a major, major issue to handle these bricks
