Nokia developing a Snapdragon 800 smartphone

18 June, 2013
The chipset was mentioned in a doc on Nokia's site, presumably on its way for a Windows Phone 8 handset.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2013Windows Phone 8 is improving day by day. Remind you, Window... moreWithout checking them on the play store??!! LOL troll, you are just justifying the low apps number on your useless wp8, a dev can upload his app but after 1 or 2 days it will be verified and if it contains anything bad it will be removed and if it contains a virus the google automatic virus checker used on the play store will remove it directly! you are so funny , I think that you got your masters from the nokia lying university

WP8 is not perfect, true, but evolving fast as hell, just look what devs have brought on actual specs and imagine what they can bring on these new ones!

Omar Mohamed, 18 Jun 2013To simplify it: Nokia rocks, WP Sucks.WP sucks big tim. Look at the history of MS mobile platforms, starting with windows mobile on the old HTC platform (Dopod). The support was terrible, the app selection was terrible and the OS was terrible.

The only good feature back then was you could navigate the file system and MS took that away!

wp8 does not need quad core, wp 8 can run on single core and 256mb of ram smooth ..., yeah without multitasking and with just useless tiles and with no compatibility with other than angry birds it can't even run on those, even it has a very bad compatibility with dual core+512mb of ram while xperia u and sola and go can run everything with a less capable cpu and ram and without a glitch!

Windows Phone 8 is improving day by day. Remind you, Windows store don't allow all the developers to post their apps because those apps posses a threat whereas Android allows each and every developer to post their apps without even checking them out and this is the reason Windows Phone 8 is way much secure than Android. Android has many apps but only 200-300 apps are useful and the remaining amount of apps are copy of another apps or simply some close to poop apps. Windows phone 8 has less apps compared to Android but they are quality apps. Windows phone 8 too have games like The Dark Knight Rises, Asphalt 7 heat and many other popular titles. Nice to see Nokia using quad core processor. Nokia EOS will surely be one of the successful phones in the world. I have a quad core Android phone currently and it lags very bad. Hopefully i will switch to Nokia once again. Although i wish Sailfish OS to be on this phone but no luck, anyways i will definitely buy this no matter what.

Lag is a complete LIE and myth!!

Android has Project Butter Smooth with is a Google exclusive for locked 60Hz GPU rendered animation.

Samsung's professional 8 Core CPU is the market best.
Check out the bench marks table.

                  Best Camera Phone: Samsung Zoom
Best SOC chip: Samsung professional Use 8 core system.
Best Screen: Samsung AMLOED 1080p S4
Best RAM OS:Android now has 3GB smartphones
                  Best OS: Android
Secondary SOC secret weapon: Tegra 4 Max edition.

                  Why would we be scared???

And any talk of lag still is just running scared

'Windows Phone 8 might finally catch up in the specs race', it means it'll be 10 times better performer than Android, cause it actually is twice better on quarter specs

Adreno 330 would be a "waste" on 720p? The graphics engine has more things to do than just supporting more pixels. You could get higher FPS and smoother rendering from it.
Besides, 1080p *might* be justified on 6" and more phablets.
I looked closely at an XPERIA U (with 280 PPI) and I swear I couldn't distinguish pixels from 10 centimeters away.
                            Enough with friggin' pixels already.

Right now, there is no Nokia news that can interest me anymore.. I used to be a Nokia fan, defiantly avoiding androids and iphones..it is finally when they announced symbian would be ended that i thought its time to move on.

One thing is for sure, if Nokia ever decided to ressurect symbian, in a new, better form than now, something built from scratch, i might return to their side.. but only after important apps are developed..and add some games wont hurt... haha *wishing*

Dany, 18 Jun 2013i totally agreetypical android fanboy, WP is improving substantially with respect to the current date, i have a Note 2 and love the phone but if you people think that you can judge a phone before seeing it, you are the fools not to mention sad. People only hear what they want.
How Many people judged the S3 and said it lagged, heated and has too many bugs( most of the lies )(Well Best Smartphone of the year so was s2) and now the same news for S4
What i am saying, may the best phone win

quad core snapdragon 800, 41 mp camera, nfc, nokia pureview, 1080p display(probably), windows phone 8 (gdr3).... this killing phone is sure to beat any company flagship.

Also, I think that wp8 gdr3 will come up with multitasking and centralized file manager and notification centre.

To simple answer to your comments, android sucks when it comes to raw OS performance, iOS and WP just feel more responsive and fast. My Lumia 920 is a joy to use, but my older S3 is a royal pain in the ***

AnonD-111344, 18 Jun 2013LOL no games no apps whts the use of SNAPDRAGON 800 in NOKIA ? It would be highly appreciated if you would make constructive points. Its getting annoying. Someone said something about multitasking, whats wrong with the multitasking solution in wp8 apart from the fact that you can't close the apps in the multitask menu. If what you understand by multitask is that all the tasks you are doing in the background continue using resources thereby eating lots of power then I'll pass.
