Was really looking forward to buying this phone since I've been part of the Moto family for quite some time now. Currently own the Motorola edge plus(2023) model but was looking to upgrade to the 59 ultra. It looks like I might not if that device is going to be powered by the snapdragon is gen 3 do to it being a downgrade. I am looking to upgrade in power and performance since I like to play games on Mobile because it is easier to access on a go than a monitor or a console. Looks like I'm going to have to wait till 5/16/24 to see what processor the edge 50 ultra is actually going to be packing, if so I am going to have to leave the Moto Family and go for the OnePlus 12 although I am going to be sacrificing Water resistance and uwb and I don't know what else.

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2024And which part of it is Ultra?Excellent question, since it does not come with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and a 6.8 panel at the very least, the only ultra* thing will be the price

8s gen 3? 999$? how are you murmuring?? Hmm?

                  🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2024So the $999 Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will have the same chips... moreWhich has a camera setup comparable to that of the Moto G10, as well as you are comparing prices of different regions here.

The Edge 50pro costs about twice as much as the Edge 50pro

Really just same phone, different region.

Eudaemon., 11 Apr 2024On a 'totally unrelated' note, my Motorola Edge 3... moreMy Edge 30 Ultra is on Android 14 and on March patch

(patch received on 21th of March)

On a 'totally unrelated' note, my Motorola Edge 30 Ultra (12/256) is still on Android 13 with November 1 2023 security patch... Just gonna put it out there.

So the $999 Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will have the same chipset the sub-$300 Redmi Turbo 3 has

Sado0og, 11 Apr 2024I hope this one has flat screen, as im looking to get one For flat screen maybe Sony or Vertu if you want a flagship phone with a flat screen.

JohnArgha, 11 Apr 20248s gen 3 be like: i'm the flagship chip now Its definitely not the upgrade nor the downgrade.
Its way cheaper and yet still a beast.
In running latest games, apps and many else the difference will be so small you wont notice it. To me whether i will run y facebook ion a previous Motorola edge 40 pro withing 0,2 seconds or in current year flagship it will take 0,3 seconds does not matter.
Phone will be fast enough there wont be any issues.
Playing the genshin impact, Forza Motosport, Diablo Immortal, Clash of Lords, Forge of Empires, Candy Crush or Matchmasters etc and having 30 FPS or 35 makes ZERO difference. Even after several years phone will be more than decent because pure android experience in Motorola phones dont need to run billion of useless apps on backround which comes with heavy UI skins like OneUI for example, Old MIUI skin, Color OS and many else.

HyperionBurn, 11 Apr 2024looks like a nice phone, hope the cameras have improved sin... moreWell ownning the last year model i am very hapy with the cameras now i am even more happy the ultrawide is not 12 Mpix but 50. And the 4600 or 5000 mAh aint big difference.
Even after year i am heavy gamer phone were performing better than expected. Had zero issues with it. Apart the curved screen which is worst for gaming.

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2024And which part of it is Ultra?Everything here is ultra???
There arent many phones apart latest Honor magic Ultimate, Porsche design and Xiaomi 14 Ultra which are arguablly better.

Honestly, I can live without 8K/30fps video recording support since very few TVs can make good use of it. But I'm still unsure about the GPU since it's a step lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It seems like a middle ground between it and the Snapdragon 8/8+ Gen 1.
