The X1 does have 128mb reserved for graphics only..
At this point I personally own a Diamond and for me it's fast enough, and the Diamond maxes out at 128 mb. The other 64mb is for the graphics as well..
Still it does the job fairly well, so from what I've seen with my time with the X1 256 will do just fine...
New software releases will speed up the X1 as well, you all know that I think..
Greetz :)

Dean, 14 Oct 2008The X1 has 384 MB RAM but on system screen it says 256MB. T... moreSo it has 256mb of RAM and 128mb of vRAM...
Which still only adds up to 256mb of RAM. What you said is like saying a computer with 2gb of RAM and a 512mb video card "actually" has 2.5gb of RAM. It doesn't - different kinds of RAM are used for different things. The video card can't access the system RAM for texture storage (without modifications) and the system RAM can't access the vRAM for temporary storage. If that happened you'd have all kinds of crosstalk problems and protected memory violations.

Apple B/S Marketing, 14 Oct 2008> No trolling - deliberately antagonizing other brand/model... moreDude, this is the age where GM and Toyota are collaborating on future models. Or Mercedes and BMW. Or Yahoo and Google. Co-designing a product is nothing new and it sure as hell didn't start with the X1. But if you want to make mountains out of molehills, sure... go ahead.
Fact of the matter is, the X1 IS the best spec-ed handset out there. And the 30 odd people badmouthing it on the internet aside, it IS making waves in the real world. And you're welcome to prove me wrong.

It might look perfect, but does it have capacitive touch? That'll definitely highlight the qualities of the display than to mar it. Hopefully the keyboard works well (crosses fingers).

In SA and through Premium shops online, it would equate to $1200, still one of my faves, though a little late, however the lack 5mp doesnt phase me! its the only phone thats loaded with the Skyfire would make me buy it instantly

it's one of the best phones coming out now.
The samsung Omnia and teh Nokia N96 had to much software problems.

Much too late. The only thing that could have saved it, was a 5MP or 8MP camera. The HTC phones and even Samsung are far ahead of the Experia.

[deleted post]> No trolling - deliberately antagonizing other brand/model users will get you banned
Does not equal
"Never say anything bad about a SE flagship model"
nor
"Never point out when someone blindly worships a specific phone or brand"
Along these lines, I would say IF the article refers to a real retail piece (which costs over 700 EUR) then SE is in BIG trouble with a BIG HTC branded dagger in its back. Having said that I am still a fool for HTC Touch HD. My eyes are on Nokia 5800XM, however.

Well guys,
I've just read an article which states that the best phones (construction and software wise) are made by SE. And I do agree..
In my 2,5 years in the phonebusiness I handle all brands on a daily basis, and the brand that I hardly get returned for any problems are SE phones.
Granted, the exception on that rule is the S500i with the keypad issues, but hey, ever tried one of the first models of a new N-series??
My N96 drives me up the wall..
So yeah, the X1 will be expensive, but so is the N96 with inferieur build quality..
As I said before, lots of people yell stuff, without knowing half of the facts..
Don't diss a brand ust because you don't like their products, instead look for the differences which attracts you in a phone.. Buy that one..
I truly think the Iphone is a marvel in it's own right, and as a gadgetfreak I want one, but it'll never be my everyday phone, simply because it lacks certain functions I deem necessary.
That doesn't make it a lousy phone, it's just not my type of phone.
X1 lacks the camera I need, but hey, that's where my duocard and second phone come in.....
Just enjoy all the new evolution, brands challenge each other as well, we all seem to forget that at times..
Greetz!
