                        pl2rts, 11 Apr 2024Xiaomi already stepped up with going from 2OS updates to 3 ... moreConsidering we're getting a more powerful chipset on the entry-level nowadays, and since normally people holds the same phone for ±3 years, 3 OS updates + 3/4 years of security patch should be the minimum nowadays for all the entry levels and midrangers.
                        What we need to wait rn is some step-up on software update policy from BBK Group, Transsion Holdings, Motorola, and ZTE. 2 OS updates might be good. But as a human that always wants more and more, I'd expect more from them.

                                Not a complaint: Usually in the past Pixels and Galaxy devices would get it on the security patches on the first few days of the month. My pixel 6a that I am using to write this just got the secuirty patch notification today as well. 04/11/24

                                    I don't get what's newsworthy about this. All they did was the bare minimum (push out a regularly scheduled security patch). Unless there's new features, there's no point in covering it. By that logic it should make headlines every time there's an iOS security update.

                                      Samsung 7 years of updates is great and all but the phones lack in performance in there price range compare to competition.

                                      7 OS updates probably slow down all these phones in the end like A55 and so on. S class phones wont have the problem cause these have top of the line performance as after 7 years these phone be probably still as powerful as middle class phones when as now the middle class is basically 400k to 800k in Antutu v10 while budget is upt to 400k with all these Dimensity 6xxx and 70xx or SD 4 gen x and even SD695 that is basically same Antutu score like 4 Gen 1-2
