I got it for the selfie camera and it's great. I'm loving this phone.

Anders, 14 Apr 2024Improving a few features doesn't justify removing seve... moreI could greatly understand the need to keep the headphone jack, but we really need to get over the memory cards. This is a 512GB phone, why on earth do you need a card? How big is it going to be anyway, most memory cards are like 32GB, 64GB or 128GB.
For the low end phones that still carry 64GB or 128GB internal storage, i can see why they need micro SD card slots.

Anders, 15 Apr 2024This is incorrect. Look at it like this, simply having a ro... moreThat would be the best comparison, if the SD card slot and headphone jack were essential features for EVERYONE, like a roof of a house, but they just aren't essential for most people.

The way I see said 2 features, is like having a great house with a garden and a balcony, and without those 2 things it would just be a great house, but of course it could be nice to have a balcony and a garden as well, but they aren't essential.

Altough I do understand, for people who need both features it really is like a roof of a house.

MicroSD is a bit more complicated, the convenience of having the card already inside the phone makes everything easier, you just move all files and it's done, but I already solved with dongles, USB-C hubs with SD and microSD slots and USB-C pendrives.

One good thing in many phones nowadays is the large storage capacity they are offering for midrange phones. I remember when 256GB was a lot, but quite rare to find a non-flagship phone with all that storage. Nowadays, it's almost the norm. On the other hand, 512GB storage is becoming more and more common in non-flagship phones.

SMYasir, 14 Apr 2024review the premier version PLEASE!Camon 30 Premier wasn't released yet, but might come later this month or next.

I agree, but that's exactly how I feel about the Camon 20(s) Pro (5G) trio, they have good chipsets, headphone jack, SD card slot and mediocre everything else. So while they removed 2 things for this series, I consider it a huge upgrade.

"Sams with chargers being removed. People are too weak to realise that if we don't buy, companies have to bend to consumers or go bankrupt."

Yeah, I feel you on that one, and it's one of the reasons why I don't buy phones without a charger, or ones with slow charging, but sadly certain logos mean too much for way too many people. However I think it's unfair to say that all people are weak or that they expect too little, if they don't care about the headphone jack and the SD card slot, some just really have no need for either. Yes, I'm aware that it doesn't hurt to have those features, but it makes no sense for people who don't need them, to stand up against companies that don't include them.

i may have to deal with absence of 3.5mm jack. but i don't want to use wireless crapbuds which is basically battery hazard for ear canals. dongles may help but adds the inconvenience. once they go missing, you're done. and buy another. USB C earphones.. it may suit my needs only if the phone does not drain randomly from using it. i second expandable storage. i mostly now store files on my old PC with 2TB HDD. i can just move my large collection of music to phones for listening locally. i'd use the MP3 version which takes around 32 to 46gb which it does not tax that much given this has 512gb internal storage. if i take photos and videos often, i would have to deal with more dongles or back up directly to the laptop. i feel like technology has gone backwards. i expect the future would be much more convenient rather than dealing with these workarounds. do companies think people use phones only to scroll social media, taking phone calls and play candy crush?

DarlingYext, 14 Apr 2024"Improving a few features doesn't justify removin... moreThe options are only Sony flagships with their terrible throttling, display tech that's 3 years out of date and slow charging. Or budget options with weak SoCs or terrible cameras. So not really manuy "options".

If you go back only 3 years, there was genuinely abundant choice. But people accepting being screwed over, has caused this situation. Sams with chargers being removed. People are too weak to realise that if we don't buy, companies have to bend to consumers or go bankrupt.

Back when LG were still making phones, most phones including Samsung flagships still had headphone jacks and microSD.

Also LG software was behind the rest, and so was their battery life and design.

Simply having a headphone jack and microSD doesn't make a bad phone, into a good one.

That's fair, and I agree, but what I was saying is that you have options with headphone jack and SD card slot, this isn't one, so just don't buy it.

"If I'm going to have to buy a phone with no headphone jack and no microSD support. Then may as well buy an iPhone."

I disagree with this completely, but you do you man. I disagree, because Apple started this no headphone jack nonsense, so why recommend them, why support them? Plus, I have to bring up Sony again, since they offer all the features, literally everything, yet nobody buys them. Why? They have small, and large phones, headphone jack, SD card slot.. everything. Then there is.. or rather was LG, they offered everything as well. Where are they now? Nowhere, they are gone. It's sad that they are gone, but people who need(ed) the headphone jack and the SD card slot could've bought one of their phones, and they clearly didn't.

DarlingYext, 14 Apr 2024I understand that the headphone jack and the micro SD card ... moreImproving a few features doesn't justify removing several others. We've got to this situation where most phones, even budget ones have adopted Apples anti-features practice because of people like rolling over and accepting it.

If I'm going to have to buy a phone with no headphone jack and no microSD support. Then may as well buy an iPhone. And it's not just me that thinks that way, android is rapidly losing market share with Zoomers and younger Millennials.
