US phones are typically global phones + NR71.

It's not clear what this new satellite hardware is, if anything. In the US, satellite cellular uses cellular bands. The tricky part for a phone is that low-orbit satellites pass by quickly and have a lot of Doppler shift.

[deleted post]Not my fault the US is lagging. I live here and it's quite boring. No one on the sidewalk has anything besides a Apple iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy A/S or Z. You may find the occasional OnePlus but besides that, it's quote boring.

Mexican telecon Claro did same thing with 4.5G years ago.

Restriction is to prevent the making of stuff to be used against the island beside them.

"(aka 5.5G) which is China Mobile’s new high-speed 5G network offering downlink speeds of up to 10Gbps and uplink up to 1Gbps."

China is clearly superior in terms of technology. This is why the US is trying to ban those 4 chip makers from doing biz with US companies. Also, a lot of you guys are not happy with this phone which is fair, but if it's 425-500 EUR/USD then I can't complain

DarlingYext, 11 Apr 2024So, it's basically a RedMagic 9 Pro with a way worse, ... moreAxon 40 Ultra was the last actual flagship Axon. I have it and despite the 8g1 and weird UI, the device itself is ridiculously futuristic looking even today.

DarlingYext, 11 Apr 2024So, it's basically a RedMagic 9 Pro with a way worse, ... moreAccording to the Weibo tech bloggers this phone won't be sold to the general public though. It is meant for government organizations/businesses and workers. That's supposedly why they didn't release a price. It would make sense as zte has also released a phone like this before

"Axon 60 Ultra will be limited to Chinese government and enterprise markets and will not be available for regular consumers."

Then what's the point of all this? 99% of the world won't be able to purchase it.

The connectivity, screen res and battery make this phone intriguing.

So, it's basically a RedMagic 9 Pro with a way worse, ugly and generic design, no headphone jack, 8 Gen 2 instead of the 8 Gen 3 and satellite connectivity. This better be cheap.

They should've just released the Axon 50 Ultra with an 8 Gen 2 instead of this thing, that had much better cameras and a way better design.

So, all in all, the Axon series isn't dead, but ZTE is actively trying to kill it, which is sad.

Well silicon carbon battery chemistry makes this a win in my books

Generic design. Could've looked much cooler, what with the black camo design, but they had to make it look entirely forgettable and somewhat ugly, even having that disgusting thick frame design similar to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Pathetic design compared to the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra.

                                      RIP Axon series

By not using the 8 Gen 3 it is fail to call it Ultra. Especially as in half a year there be already coming 8 Gen 4 out
