Samsung to bring OneUI 6.1 and Galaxy AI to S22, Flip4, Fold4 in early May

12 April 2024
2021 flagships will get the update later that same month, but will miss out on most of the AI fun.

k0vasz, 12 Apr 2024so, the current gestures will be lost and replaced by the d... moreThat will not happen as long as Samsung's gesture functionality is superior to anything else.
With this update, if you have or install Google Assistant, you get the long touch gesture on the home button to activate this. Everything else stays the same.

so, the current gestures will be lost and replaced by the default google gestures?

My opinion: expect paid updates for older phones in 2025, for all Samsung phones in 2026. Why not?

How does it take so long for these numbskulls to bring it out to their other devices? It should be illegal for these devices not to receive the same features via software update for more than a month apart.

Ah, just when my Z Fold 4 flex cables broke... 🙃
Oh wait, its stuck on OneUI 5.0 anyways since its a Xfinity model 🥱

Another month another samsung useless update which will eat up a big chunk of disk space which not everybody have.

BigDisplay, 12 Apr 2024So what I have it on my S24U but could easily live without AI. Yup this was the funniest point of S24 series. Not much change over my S23 Ultra but AI that lasted only 3 months before they uploaded it to S23 series.
I'm jealous of that antiglare coating on your screen! Nothing else is really better... Same camera (basically), battery life, processor speed etc.

So, I'll have about a month with it before I upgrade to the Z6. Nice move Samsung.
                ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And people said it wasnt going to happen, with 7 years of updates for newer devices, and bringing AI features to older devices Samsung is doing alot now. Apple would never do this and dont get me started on Chinese OEMS. Samsungs leagues ahead now

Of course, none for the A-series to avoid making the S-Series look like a joke.

So what I have it on my S24U but could easily live without AI.

                        Better than none.
