PureOS, 14 Apr 2024A35- 250€ and a55- 300€ is reasonable price for me.If I remember when I bought the a3 2016 what I got for that era and in what price; even the pricing you suggest is high

danielfgom, 14 Apr 2024Me too. But we'll never see that price. It's possible,if you can hold on. I don't hate Samsung but the fact remains that their prices fall way too quick which is not necessarily a bad thing from a consumer perspective

However, upon a price drop, people will think that the devices which are normally really expensive are now very cheap, making them more willing to buy. Samsung makes less profit per unit, but it makes up for it through the increased number of buyers.

[deleted post]Gsmarena is just a review site, not a smartphone maker. Totally off comparison from you.

And I said "mostly", not all the time, since their GSM HQ is in Europe.

                🙃

The €400 A55 seems to be from third party sellers.

What does Samsung expects? Selling the same phone for 3 years for the same price with just changing its name? Even comparing with A53 there is only cpu upgrade and some minor improvements (Like WiFi 6 support, 1000 nits instead of 800 nits etc.)

Ironically, the upgraded cpu is also outdated compared to other major brands offerings for the same price range (A55 AnTuTu is 800k meanwhile OnePlus Ace 3V AnTuTu is 1.35M)

Most of phones even after discounts are way expensive compare to prices in Dubai,U.A.E.I will suggest GsmArena team to have look on Major online seller platforms and people gonna shock.

I think A55 is a fair price now, you can get it from Spain for €350 which is good. After only 1 month from being launched...for those who bought it for €500 hahaha learn to wait, patience is a virtue.

Tfw there was a used 8/128gb A55 for $260 but I missed it by a few hours.
GSM team been warning on their reviews about NOT buying at launch prices but these Samsung diehards keep crying lmao.

With Samsung A35's price drop, maybe that can be considered instead of the Nothing Phone 2a - well, at least if you're fine with 6gb ram.
Can't say the same for A55 though.

It's a routine business of Samsung, un-strategically pricing and gradually reducing. But A55 is still overpriced.
