Anonymous, 13 Apr 2024Another phone with type 1.0 that cannot beat rx100 mark 1. 😒I've done comparisons with my rx100v compared to my Samsung s22. The s22 already beats the rx100v when it comes to zooming surprisingly. I was expecting a big difference in favor of the rx100 and it consistently had worse images zoomed. I honestly don't care about sensor size if the image is worse. The rx100v has far more natural colors than the Samsung as Samsung really likes saturating everything. Though the s22 has better dynamic range because it stacks photos

So far this looks to be pretty promising and I don't doubt it'll live up to its "professional camera" claim, but if there's one ongoing complaint with most smartphones' cameras except for Sony, it would be the amount of software processing involved in the photos.
We need less of that "post-processed" look and more natural rendering of photos, like on the Nokia 808 PureView.

I want Vivo X100 Ultra.
It will have a 200MP Telephoto Periscope camera and it will have all possible Bluetooth codecs.
SBC, AAC, LC3, APTX, APTX Adaptive, APTX HD, APTX Lossless, LDAC and LHDC.
I love Bluetooth speakers.
Bluetooth users are gonna love that phone.
My dream phone.

I just dont like the uneven thickness of the stainless circular ring of the camera at the back, its gimmicky and also the curved glass at the front and the back of the x100 pro. Hope this one will just have the flat screen and a sturdy metal casing that would protect the LED screen more.

My kind of "professional camera that can make calls" would easily be something like the 2014 Panasonic Lumix CM1. Give it an interchangeable lens adaptability; it would be THE phone to beat. Heck, there are even scores of Android-powered cameras like the Yongnuo YN455 and ZEISS ZX1.

raditz594, 15 Apr 2024Bit Perfect audio is available for all devices as of Androi... moreYeah, but I heard hardware based decoding of audio for the ultmate quality was disabled Android 10 onwards.
Its the reason why many LG G8x owners remained on Android 9, if they had the choice..
Plus, all this 32 bit audio and Snapdragon audio, everything is a kind of gimmick. The true audio quality is far gone. Either they focus on loudspeaker only, or they bring unhearable sounds.
Till date, LG G8x/ V60 remains the best audio quality phone in my knowledge.
Plus, motivated by Google's actions, most big manufacturers have stopped making USB-C to 3.5mm adaptors, specially those with Quad DAC, I can hardly find any in market.

Like seriously the reason we haven't seen a rugged phone with a 2230 nvme m.2 slot, is beyond me. It shouldn't surprise me given every single phone manufacturer simultaneously decing you shouln't get to spend less than 1500$ for a phone with enough storage, but still. So many things I'd fix, but it takes a lot to go to school to be an electrical engineer.

The iphone photos were "good enough".
SOME of the Vivo shots, my Full Frame A7 III with Prime lens wouldn't be ashamed of.

And tell you what, even if it was possible, Google wouldn't let this happen. They've hampered audio quality of devices, probably the video camera modes also suffered due to this.
They tread very carefully, not affecting other industries significantly.
The customer is getting an inferior device, but Google has too big a following to be affected.

Differences in camera output quality between $1000+ flagships is miniscule. It comes down to personal preference. Yeah, they all fail from time to time and from shot to a shot but most of the time they all look do the same job. X100 Pro, X7 Ultra, 14 Ultra, S24 Ultra, 8 Pro, 1V, 15 Pro Max difference is only in your personal preference and what you value more in a photo or video.

😒If you're passionate, shoot RAW, import the photos on your computer, then spend hours editing them, then perhaps not.
However if you want to simply shoot photos and then use them, then it most certainly beats the RX100 by a mile.

Using x100 Pro from few weeks,
Nodoubt it is great for camera centric device
But I would like brand should focus on below values or priorities
1) Thermals on normal usages. (even 10-15min use reached 45-49c) which is not good
2) Task reminder on time not working even battery optimization kept off
3) Haptics are poor
4) Resale is most pathetic- I was not much satisfied initially and tried to sell this within 15 days but getting 40k for this 90k device in just 15 days. Lolz this is brand
5) Not sure vivo listening to customers, despite giving lots of improvements/bugs they give update I think quarter a year or much delayed.

Vivo x100pro is great. I own it for several months now.
Even can't get it how the ultra will bring him down. Many other flagships failed already.
Signals, quality build, battery life are great also. Chinese rom works more than fine.

fren , 14 Apr 2024vivo vp must be high on drugs a professional camera in smar... moreIt's called marketing. Besides, you can take very "professional" photos with many smartphones these days.
I often feel "wow" from many of the photos of my S23 Ultra and I have a "professional" Sony A7RIII with 42 Megapixels full-frame sensor. I just don't use it in my profession, but I use my phone in my profession.
Many journalists are using iPhone in broadcasted interviews etc. So many people are using phones as professional tools.
Just like Sony loves to talk about their cinematic video capable smartphones, I see no problem for Vivo to call their products professional. I'm sure many Vivo phones will be used for professional purposes just like iPhones are being used to shoot video that end up on your 6 o'clock news.

The exec made such a bizarre statement - Nowadays professional cameras almost certainly *require* the ability to mount interchangeable lenses, which is why almost no pro photographers (apart from those who make money out of street photography, which is extremely rare to begin with) use fixed lens compact cameras regardless of whether they have a zoom or prime lens.
Smartphone cameras are fun and many people enjoy using them, just like how the X100 series and GR III are widely appreciated by the gen Z people - But those cameras are not "professional" grade and I've seen absolutely no one using them for their paid work in real life. Go ahead and release a phone with the MFT sensor and the mount, and then we can talk.
