Wood is definitely better than those plastic „vegan leather“ options. It eve looks pretty good. If it allows wireless charging, it could be a good alternative to glass and smooth plastic.

At least it has real fast charging... and I'm sure it will come with the charger in the box, but what about Google? The only bad thing apart from the price that will drop soon is the battery capacity for an ultra model...

8s Gen 3 on the Ultra? I know it's a perfectly powerful SoC, but it still won't really compete with most Ultra phones out there that have the 8 Gen 3

Motorola has the worst updates and the worst update-policy in the market. 2 major updates for a flagship is not even the worst thing that they do.
Their flagships barely received Android 14 two months ago and it's full of bugs, same bugs for every device that they pushed the updates for (Edge 30 Ultra, Edge 40 Pro). NFC not working, bluetooth volume issues, problems with battery drain, just bugs everywhere. And no fixes yet, 2 months after! Even worse, these updates install automatically, without your permission, even if you disable them in the settings (it bypasses even the developer settings), wich means you can't wait until there's a fix.
Their mid-range devices like the Edge 40 and Edge 40 Neo are still on Android 13, which also has bugs like frame drops with picture and picture mode. It seems that the Android 14 will bring even more issues.
1000 euros for an upper mid-range device seems nuts. Pixel 8 Pro is a lot better, has 7 years of updates and it's cheaper. At least Google and Samsung get you updates in time and they give you all the newer features of the newer phones, like Samsung did with the AI features and the OneUI. Motorola gave their new UI only to the Edge 50 series, their older device won't get, because f**k customers.

Very good device. Excellent cameras. Disappointed by the battery. But overall very good device.
But at the price they are launching this at, its not good.
Vivo Iqoo 12/12 Pro cost way less than this. Around 600/650 EUR. And overall a much better device than moto.
And they have the same camera setup as this + Telephoto Macro. It has SD 8Gen3. It has 5000mAh/5100mAh Battery.
Only thing better on Motorola is the Front Camera.

Seems it has all the hardware specs people were kind of expecting.
I think it won't be as popular in the U.S. bc at that price a Galaxy S24 or 23 has more of an appeal bc of "brand name." Only way this will get picked up before a galaxy is if camera and video are better or similar in quality.
Hope Motorola stays alive for a long time to compete with Android flagships in the U.S. seeing there are not many alternatives in that category.

The base model starts at 1000!!! Outside and aside, what a beautiful wood finish!! how much something like this was missed in the market
