Sazza, 06 Jul 2024i am waiting for 14t because i need a balanced phone which ... moreIf I were you, I'd start monitoring prices and discounts for the Xiaomi 13T Pro. Distributors and Xiaomi themselves will start clearing stock of the unsold 13T range in the run up to the release of the 14T range. You might be able to snag a really good deal if you follow the market closely. Launch prices for current year models typically follow a trend so you can check what the Sept 2023 launch price was for the 13T range where you are to get an idea of what the 14T range will start at.

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2024The reason all the phones are 6.5inch plus is because of t... moreThe reason for the tall aspect ratios is that people want a maximum amount of usable display for the given sizes. Which is a good thing. Big bezels are just wasted space.

The S24 is not a tiny phone just because it is smaller than most top tier flagships (Ultra and Pro Max Types). It is 147x70.6 and that is not small. Also, same as all the other entry level flagships are, the main camera is crippled and I'd much rather they'd cheaped out, or skipped the ultrawide and/or whatever zoom, but at least gave a proper main sensor. Same as the Ultra/Pro Max flagship.

Small flagship smartphones hasn't really been a thing the past 10-12-ish years. We've just adapted to consider what once was massive phones, laughable by some, to become normal, then small, but they're not really small - and definitely not tiny.

I love big screens and big smartphones, buuut I would also love a edge to edge dislayed modern take on something the size of the Motorola Motoluxe in 18:9 aspect (120x60mm). That would be tiny today, but nice to have as a secondary device.

The Cubot Pocket from 2022 is the closest thing we've had to a small smartphone in recent time. Sadly with massive bezels and underwhelming everything else. The Vertu-inspired design wasn't bad though.

They are so narrow which makes the galaxy S24 look tiny..because it is. No need for an essay reply because I won't be back.

Isn't the dimensity 9300 the one with all power cores? Battery life should be interesting 🤣

It's only widely available on the release date. Four months later, the official lines go puff and retail prices on third-party sellers rise like crazy to the point that it isn't worth it anymore.

Since the 13T Pro doesn't have wireless charging like the 13T, let's hope the 14T also has one, even if downgraded wattage from the 14T Pro. *finger crossed*

Can't wait for the normal 14T. I was interested in the 13T before I moved on to other devices. It had most of the things I was looking for but it was still slightly lacking in the camera department (please improve the selfie cam, 14T) and so if I'm not going for Tecno Camon 30 Pro, the 14T would be my next long term target.

In the meantime, I'll maximize the lifespan of my current Realme phone that's already far behind in Android version.

Sony big model, heck, all model doesn't even sell much. At least until 14 vanilla, there are no small phone with camera that match their "pro" model except for iphone pro against pro max, but until the letdown of relatively small battery and much shorter battery life compared to the pro max.

Reason why XM14 had huge sales boost over 13 is due to camera boost to real flagship level on a small screen. 13 camera was meh and not on the level with big flagship.
You talk about T series camera being good etc, but isn't it still a large phone? I'm talking about small screen having flagship camera...

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2024Market might be changing due to the lack of small screen wi... moreNone of the recent Xiaomi flagships have had lackluster cameras. Of course they're not as good as Ultra model and when looking at combined dxomark scores counting all the additional sensors (apart from macro), but lackluster for the average buyer? No.

I've had people upgrading older from Samsung S-series flagships being blown away by the camera performance of the base T-model from Xiaomi. Let alone their actual flagship series.

Keep in mind that when the average person buys a smartphone there's not much, if any, knowledge about sensor sizes and so on. There's no checking of stats in dxomark. Hence the massive weighting on MP and why samsung still has their BS 200MP camera.

The average user does in best case open the camera app and use the main sensor 99% of the time, and that's not necessarily even the default choice. A lot of the time I see people using snapchat, instagram, facebook etc. to take photos/videos. This results in lower quality cropped photos and/or videoes than the device could offer if using the native camera app and then uploaded to social media. It's not like people don't see it, but practicality wins every time.

A lot more should be done to elevate the performance in 3rd party apps when using the camera.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2024You also forgot that the Pro Max has 1 significant upgrade ... moreIf you think the majority of people opt for the Pro Max vs. base model due to battery life alone, then I think you are very optimistic. The combination of the biggest screen and best camera setup (which also requires space) is likely the reason.

If apple, or any other manufacturer, had any indication of this, they would simply bulk up the smaller models by 1mm in thickness and fit them with a bigger battery. Sony did, and had a tiny phone with amazing battery life. Not enough people bought it, so it got axed.

If you are one of the few who wants small phones, than that sucks for you. I don't care, because I want big phones. That are actually usable tools.

and talking about ASUS with horrible faulty built quality and no software support, you are funny, even big displays won't save them, nobody buy those phones
