Insta360 X4 brings 8K resolution for the first time, longer battery life and other improvements

16 April 2024
The X3 topped out at 5.7K - the new X4 can shoot at that resolution at double the frame rate (60fps). It also improves features like Me Mode and MaxView.

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2024i demand 32K resolution. my washing machine was capable of ... moreIm guessing that was to see the clothes being washed in 4..i mean 8k?

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2024If this thing doesn't sell like hot cakes you're ... moreI'd want one anyday but the price is brutally high, for what is something an old flagship would do easily.

Even the older Insta X3 wants a price of Rs. 40,000 in my currency, that's around $500.

At this price, I'd love such a thing to be fittable to a supported high quality drone, but its not the case, which makes it a pretty single purpose device.

Ben's Gadget Review already made a video of it. He even showed a short 4K/120fps clip shot from it*. This thing might not be a smartphone, but I do find it to be an interesting contender to the Sony Xperia 1 Mk5 when it comes to video.

If this thing doesn't sell like hot cakes you're all a bunch of phonies that want a soap box camera more than a smartphone.

rizki1, 16 Apr 2024This is quite expensive, for this money I think I can just ... moreI'd do the same.

Two things I thought when I read this:

              1. Wow, I didn't know they made such expensive 360 cameras.

              2. Wow, finally a super high resolution (looks like 72MP) camera actually using the full resolution in a non-gimmicky way!

Anyone remember the HTC RE? This is what that should have been.

Very niche, but honestly a very cool and worthwhile product. I'm very impressed, to say the least. Still missing that 4K@120fps, and the battery life still has some room for improvement (even if the increase in battery life is huge), but otherwise a very worthwhile product. The price increase is a bit high, though, but since it's a niche product anyway, it's not at all price sensitive, so I guess they know they can increase their profits from this because they're confident almost all of their potential customers will buy it anyway.

Quite nice boost in quality and features. Still missing that 4K@120P though

This is quite expensive, for this money I think I can just buy a cheap DJI drone for this.

not interested. waiting for insta360 go 4 for my fpv drone!

Damn, the price alone is on par with the basic DSLR camera (beginner) here in my country 🤦🏻‍♂️
