I feel like a boomer, because I am already satisfied with my 5900X and I don't see myself needing another upgrade, especially considering the fact I'll have to upgrade the mobo.

My Zen3 laptop managed to run relatively cool daily for basic tasks. It only revved up the fans when running a game. Menahile, all my Intel laptops have their fans screaming even for the simplest things like running Windows update.

Who Cares, 17 Apr 2024Am I the only one whose AMD laptop and PC heat too much, bu... moreHopefully you see this comment, there is an easy way to fix overheating especially in laptops, just go to the control pannel/power settings and change the maximum processor state in the power plan you are currently using to 99 from 100 and set minimum to 25.

Who Cares, 17 Apr 2024Am I the only one whose AMD laptop and PC heat too much, bu... moreModern CPUs are made to skyrocket to 95C and stay there, maintaining as high of a clock speed as possible without going above it. I'm using a pretty high-end air cooler - still getting 95C on a Ryzen 7 7700X and it is not a bug/issue/problem, it's exactly what they are meant to do.

Tiger Lake could go down to 2W-4W at idle.
Idle doesnt necessarily means "doing nothing" but rather light tasks.
