First off detail comes from pixel matrix not LCD or Amoled. Yes Super Amoled uses pentile matrix, but at 441ppi you cannot see unless you use microscope. The detail is stunning.
Next Amoled is more than black and in natural mode is overall more natural than LCD. It's capable of being within a few percent of the same accuracy. All the while it still has real blacks, and better white balance. Which equals way more natural.
And everyone mentions monitors...These are phone displays not monitors...And again almost same accuracy, but overall more natural.
Amoled white is way more white than LCD black is black. The whole white thing is blown out of proportion. It's just ever so slightly off.
The truth is you and many cannot handle that most people like the saturated colors while it can still be nearly as accurate, and even phone LCD have only more recently reached the level they are now.
Amoled overall is less power consuming, real blacks, better angles, thinner, less reflective, stunning contrast, faster response times, saturated or natural, more accurate white balance, and overall more natural.
IPS is a little brighter" which contrast and reflectivity help make up for on Amoled", slightly better whites, less power consumed on white, and about 5% more accurate....And have you ever looked at black at an angle on LCD? It's a nightmare.
That is real fact.

It does beat LCD in black, but LCD beats AMOLED in white.
AMOLED single greatest advantage is true blacks. There is a reason why anyone serious about color accuracy chooses IPS monitors for example over MVA ones. AMOLED is hardly known for its color accuracy as it produces saturated colors. If you were to do professional photography and print high quality photo, it will look closer to the colors on IPS hence color accuracy.
If you love blacks/dark colors then choose AMOLED and if you love reading text a lot choose IPS for sharpness,
AMOLED ?If you like a colorful screen that is not as detailed, IN SHORT its UN REALISTIC COLORS....

It would only be worth having this version if it had a 6" display size and a soper IPS Plus display and a camera to rival Sony's or Nokia's otherwise for me it's the Sony Z Ultra all the way!
