18 April 2024
By using Samsung network hardware and a Qualcomm modem. This tech should be commercially available by the end of the year.

5G was designed with the old paradigm that user were consuming media like youtube, tiktok, etc.

5G advanced (5.5G) were designed that user will be participating in the media like zoom or facebook streaming.

"The X75 modem is featured in the Snapdragon 8/8s Gen 3, by the way "

            I think 8s gen 3 have X70 modem, not X75.

But some countries and carriers already decided to advertise it as 6G.
Moving to new number should only happen with 10 times improvement imo.

5G speeds are already good enough for daily smartphone usage but real problem comes from ping.
Despite having >100MB/s real world download speed, usual latency hovers around 30-60ms on my 5G network. .. so if somehow they can manage to bring that down to

That issue has nothing to do with tech. Switch provider or complain, complain, complain. It works to do that. Irish providers used to trick all customers into these "fair" contracts. They're mostly gone these days.

Peak speeds are definitely always something to improve, as we use extremely high volumes of data even for the simplest tasks. Getting you to use clouds more frequently means them getting more data to collect. Win-win, for them.

Unfortunately for us, when tech site report about "speed" of mobile data and WiFi, they don't really talk about capacity.

When tech site like this one we're at right now talk about 4G vs 5G they only talk about speed, and not even mentioning that 5G have 6x the capacity of 4G

Regular 5.5G is about 10 times better than 5G
                                  This is only 20%
Perhaps a 5.01G to be precies.

On the one hand, it’s a cool tech demonstration. On the other hand, maximum speed is really the last thing I‘m worrying about with mobile networks. What is way more important is coverage and especially capacity, the last one because I want to finally end the limited included high speed data plans and just have unlimited data by default, like it is with home internet. A higher price should only give more speed, but unlimited data should be default. That would truly be a breakthrough, if I finally didn’t have to worry about watching a video or downloading an app or any other bigger file on the go because of data caps.

                                      6G basically
