No way am I letting them run the OS. It'll also surely be extremely locked down (the original Oculus is becoming a brick this year because of Meta). I'd even buy a Vision Pro over buying anything Meta. I'll ideally pay for the least locked down, most private VR platform.

    would it still require an facebook account just to use the headset?

It's such a wasted of time talking to someone who are not or don't know what is computer science / programming. Yeah dude, like what you said, as long as the code is not lock and some can remove it.
