Will there be a slot to attach headphones to the superb sound machine iPad Pros now are? Because wired sound is so much better and needs to be available when shooting video on the thing. Which reminds me, dont anybody buy one unless their camera chips are seriously improved in resolution AND the second camera- an ultrawide, has resolution to at least match the main cam, because as things now are, the ultrawide's quality is so abysmally poor it cannot be used for stills and certainly is not to be used for 4K video because it simply cannot match the main cam in image quality. And, whilst on the subject, you can only use the main cam for panoramas, the ultrawide does not have this function. Oh, and you still must by a third-party app if you intend to shoot pro-res video as Apple STILL refuses to load the software that exists for it and is on every single new iPhone with 256GB storage or more. by the way, you cannot use a mouse with an iPad Pro the same way you can with a Mac or a windows machine. No right-click anything and half the time using a bluetooth Apple Magic mouse fails to work even to open a website or scroll down a page. Other than that it is an OK machine....

When holding it like a book and browsing the web, for instance, it looks like the scrolling can't keep up with itself, cause a "wobble" on the screen. It was never an issue for me, as either used it to read books or mostly had it the Landscape mode on my desk (for some reason it doesn't wobble when turned that way)

ARM use way less power than x86 cores, but the tradeoff is how much actual power you get with x86. Neither are better, but are built for different purposes. x86 is for desktops or notebooks while ARM are for mobile devices and smaller/cheaper notebooks. SnapDragon X Elite runs on ARM and should compete with M3 lol.

Ther... moreI mean, that's what a tablet supposed to be — an even more portabel touch screen laptop — not a bigger phone like majority of the tablets nowadays. Long time ago Microsoft had show us what a tablet supposed to be with the release of Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, but too bad it's not as popular as the big iPho- *cough* I mean the iPad.

Lister, 23 Apr 2024A new iPad mini is due. I'm hoping for one with the A1... moreUnless it is an Overclocked A17 chipset, and the tablet now comes with 8GB RAM, and 128GB Storage for Base Model, and the price is now USD $400. Well it is not quiet worth it.
It's almost a certainty that the price will come at $499 or even $550. So either the storage must come at higher than 128GB to make up for it. OR the device must be superior in some other ways. Going to HDR10+ is basically a given at this time and price, but it could balance it's asking price by including either 120Hz VRR, or making the leap to an OLED display. We also have certainty that neither is happening. So our last option is for a performance uplift. Going from an A15 to an A17 won't increase performance. Not in a meaningful way. Even if comparing an underclocked A15 vs overclocked A17. It would need to be more substantial, like a migration to the Base M1 chipset, like the cheap, old, midrange Air.
So yah. A lot of factors rely on the iPad Mini 7, either coming with an M1 chipset, or it being an overpriced dud. Latest rumours claim it is worse, at a mere Base A16 chipset... which is the same chipset as the 3 Year Old tablet, iPad Mini 6, except it is just trading efficiency for higher clocks and performance. Such a product can easily be countered by the competition. The smart play would be to make the leap for a higher-end iPad but at a small size, whilst you keep the iPad Mini 6 still on the shelves as a standard option for $350. Apple has done decisions like that before, and it helps them sell more units.

They need to fix their storage and RAM overpricing. Seriously, 16GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM from them is 400 dollars. 16GB of normal DDR4 is like 50 dollars max.

Ther... moreFair enough, apart from the initial run until 10 years ago, android tablets were either overpriced or under-specced around 8 to 3 years ago, in comparison. This got better now with SD Gen 7+ tablets. The surface is amazing but microsoft should invest more to let potential buyers know its benefits. Price/performance could be better, still.

That was a really nice logo, and I honestly miss it (even through I really do not like Apple as a company).

David, 23 Apr 2024The iPad is the only genuinely good product they make. Ther... moreI own iPad Pro since the first gen ... which is 9 years O.o and I must say - the hardware is good, but the software is still abysmal mess iOS 9 till latest iPadOS and honestly not much ever changed or was improved.
On the other hand, for a dumb tablet, nine years of service is fairly great, making the investment and software shortcomings less painful.
