i'm sold on the concept and design but SoC specs are disappointing, they could've bumped it up to Dimensity 8300-Ultra and msrp ~$500, hopefully MIAD 02 will be better

Usually sound or gaming focus ohones have bad camera poor software and too many bugs .
They have to make a good phone first than comes the music DAC bla bla . It's not the first time equipment manufacturer like red making a phone and failing miserably .

They should have leveled it up with 6000mah battery since it's a musical instrument,, or should I say audio focused phone..
they didn't focus much on the display since it's a *1080 (p)rogressive scan*(FHD) consuming energy from 5000mAh(milliampere-hour) battery, which is pretty much balanced..
since it is packed with *DSP* functionalities, that's means it will be a favored choice among professionals and researchers..
therefore, 6000mah battery, won't do any harm for a smart phone that can offer a dynamic range of 132dB and a SINAD of 118 dB!

There is a reason most smartphones limit the voltage to 0.5 or at most 1V to support high impedance headphones because very rarely is the need for 2 or 4V as most headphones are moving towards low impedance drivers.

In another time. Had my father been alive I'd have pre-ordered this in a heartbeat! Audiophile audio in a decent smartphone formfactor and ease of use!

Their marketing slide have this in the camera section lmao:
---
>64-megapixel HD Dual-Camera
>32-megapixel Frontal Camera
(it's not good, but it works)
---
Brutally honest! I like that, but they probably meant "Not the best, but decent enough." but is lost in translation. It looks like it is OV64B but whether it has OIS or not is unknown.

raditz594, 25 Apr 2024It's the difference between having recourse via judici... moreOnly rich people can afford to sue.
All of these big tech companies have dedicated lawyers that will make sure you'll run out of money long before they do.
It's the reason why the only people that actually sued one of these were either big companies themselves or official organization and government.
And it doesn't change the fact that in the case your data get stolen, suing them won't do anything about that, your data can and will be copy-pasted an infinite time over.

I stopped caring about smartphones around the iPhone 6 basically, only if I could predict how bad things were to get.
Every phone with exact same design.
Locking in the battery, removing headphone jack, SD card slot, cutting a whole in the screen, locked bootloaders with loads of preloaded spyware while significantly raising the prices at the same time.
Considering some people commenting here they'd probably think my current phone can't even make calls its so low spec but it's better than everything that came after because I refuse to pay for any of this new anti-consumer bs that every manufacturer is pushing for the past years but obviously I wouldn't mind an upgrade.
I mean this is not perfect obviously but considering how bad things are I'm not gonna complain about it, probably has a locked in battery tho which I will never understand how it became accepted.
I was expecting this to be at least a thousand bucks considering typical audiophile product pricing yet it turns out to be reasonably priced.
Does anyone have any idea if it ships with Play Services or any chinese bloat?
I mean if it was a clean AOSP only with some specific audio software on top that'd be just too perfect so I'm not counting on it but imagine if thats the case, hoping it comes to the EU if so.
