Where is Xiaomi 13 Lite successor? Is Lite version already discontinued?

jerem06, 30 Apr 2024This smartphone would have been perfect with a x3 telephoto... moreFrom what I've seen it can do lossless 4x (100mm)

Looks like an interesting mid ranger.

However I am no longer supporting Xiaomi, due to their greed and decision to not let China phones with HyperOS have bootloaders unlocked overseas.

Get your shit together Xiaomi, you're not Samsung!!!

Never will I buy a xiaomi phone again as currently they are overpriced, security updates only twice a year and OS update that is now running closer to 6 months late.

If it a Civi 4 Pro, then his is pretty competitive against OnePlus 12R, which is around 39,999-45999 INR due to multiple sources (Gadgets360 and so on).

8s Gen 3 is just essentially a rebadged 8 Gen 2 so expect similar raw performance. The main differences between the two chips is the ARM inst. set (ARMv9.2-A vs v9-A), lower CPU clock (3000 vs 3200MHz) and the halfed GPU. 8s Gen 3 has a higher clock (1100 VS 680MHz) but 8 Gen 2 has way more TOTAL shading units (1280 vs 2560). It even has more FLOPS, coming in at 3490 GigaFLOPS vs 2820 GigaFLOPS on the 8s Gen 3.

In display terms both are neck and neck. 12R has LTPO(4), 1600 nits in HBM, 4500 in peak, 1 billion colors, HDR10+ and 120hz. Civi 4 Pro has a wider range of colors with 68 billion. Both phones are AMOLED and have Dolby Vision. Civi has a ~10ppi advantage over 12R (~460 v. ~450). Civi has a 6.5 panel whereas 12R has a 6.7 panel too. Civi 4 Pro is not curved, by the way.

In build quality, both phones have a glass front, aluminum frame and for the back, 12R has a glass back (has been said to be very slippery). The Civi 4 is the same but the back gives you eco-leather or a normal glass. Because of this, Civi 4 Pro has 3 weight options: 177.6, 179.3 and 180.9 grams. 12R just has a 207 gram weight.

As far as OS goes, this is a toss up for the reader (you) to decide. I won't bad-mouth anyone or suck up to anyone either. This pretty much makes or breaks the phone you want. Do you want HyperOS or OxygenOS? You decide.

For hardware, Civi 4 and both 12R have UFS (4.0 vs 3.1, respectively). Civi has many configurations, 256/12, 512/12 and 512/16. All models are UFS 4.0, whereas 12R has lesser offerings for non-power users, with 128/8, 256/8, 256/12 and 256/16. All models are UFS 4.0.

As far as cameras go, the Civi 4 really beats up the 12R anyway. 50MP, 25mm wide with PDAF and OIS , a 12MP 50mm 2x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide with a 120 degree angle. OP 12R lacks a telephoto which makes MANY (including me) upset. It replaces that tele for a macro lens. It has a 50MP 25mm wide camera with PDAF (and Laser AF) with OIS, 2MP macro and a 8MP 16mm 116 degree angle wide. Civi 4 does better selfies with dual cameras as well as 4K front video (30fps)

Both phones take video up to 2160@60 (4K, 60fps) with gyro-EIS. Civi 4 however, can record video with HDR10+ or BT.2020. it can also do 10-bit videos. However, OP12R trades that in for a video OIS.

On the audio side of things, both phones do NOT have a 3.5mm jack. They do have stereo speakers, however, with Civi 4 having Hi-Res wired and wireless audio (24 bit/192kHz). For Bluetooth lovers, like me, OP12R has aptX HD but Civi 4 has LHDC. No LDAC whatsoever lol.

For comms, both phones have Type-C 2.0 (Civi 4 has OTG), with NFC, infrared port, no radio (because of missing 3.5mm) and BT 5 versions (5.4 for Civi, 5.3 for 12R).

          For battery, Civi 4 has 67W charging(2700mAh), 12R has 100W charging (5500mAh).

My pick is 12R. It does lack telephoto, UFS 4.0 and other (minor) cool features but it makes up for it with the faster charging, LTPO panel, better GPU and more RAM and storage options.

This smartphone would have been perfect with a x3 telephoto lens (32 or 50MP) capable of a decent x6 zoom

Damn, why can't we have that globally instead of one single country known for rebranding thousands of Redmis?
