It conserves power while the screen is off. The big problem is when you use it that will be drawing power for the screen. Sony messed up with the Xperia Z with the battery only being able to provide 4 hours of actual screen on time use. 4 hours of screen time is short for heavy use per charge. What more with bluetooth connected to the suggested new Smartwatch and handy new "big" bluetooth earpiece all day.
You need to be constantly plugged in to enjoy this great looking device more. Being waterproofed and all, this was meant to be an outdoors device. Nice design but they again sacrificed battery over thinness

Looking at the bezels of other phones and tablets I think Sony should have reduced the overall width by 5mm and the height by 10mm.

Latest ARM chipset, 2.2ghz processor paired with a 8MP camera and no flash, really ? I guess Sony thinks picture quality will be secondary to users of this device. Say what u want about Samsung's love for cheap plastic materials but their flagships are fully equipped. The Galaxy Note might have an 8MP camera as well but Samsung used plain common sense and added a flash. Sony, please, don't start acting like HTC.

I am SONY user since it was sony ericsson.
The only main weakness of SONY is battery, all my SONY devices only last 1 day in every full charge and like always Z Ultra dissapoint me with only 3,050mAH, lets forget this phablet, look forward to honami.
hope honami would be better.

Looks great... i just wish:
1) the battery was 1000mAH bigger (even if the device was 1mm thicker)
2) The bezels were smaller.... they are massive by todays standards (especially the top and bottom)
3) There was LED flash (as much for a torch)

One and the same - horrible little trolls, except in this case at least Apple didn't pay it's trolls, so Sanmsung trolls are even lower!
Any type of LED flash is pathetic in the dark - only Xenon is any good and there is no way it would fit in such a thin device. 6.5mm. So it's no big loss for me.
