OSasmatteroffact, 02 May 2024If you are using the F5 then obviously its not worth it, th... moreiQoo 12 not sold in Europe to be competing with F6
iQoo 12 can compete with Redmi Turbo 3 in China market but then again the iQoo 12 price is higher so it be like competing with some other phones like Xiaomi 14

MindTheGap, 02 May 2024Do you also feel comfortable doing your banking in a ROM th... moreI don't care about ROM. My issue with custom ROM is not technical per say, but rather judicial. If I'm subject to a crime, like for example fraud or identity theft, while using a software not under the manufacturer's direct control, I won't be entitled to compensation by my bank/insurance company for injuries caused by criminal act. It's like if you drink and drive and someone hit your car, you're the one who's going to be punished by a court of law, even if you didn't cause the traffic accident. Why, because you had alcohol in your body.
The reason I never install custom ROM in any unit is to protect myself judicially. There's no safe software/ROM/phone, all can be cracked. If an ISP or a government can't see what's in a datagram, they will block it or save it somewhere until they find a way to decrypt it. Safe software is a myth.

Dont expect the F6 would replace the F5 for the price point since the one that replace it was the X6 pro

Not one smartphone that came out since has given me the feeling that I must "upgrade"
And since they are all removing basic things like the jack, sd slot, fm radio...I'll be holding on to the F1 for some more time to come

CamoGeko-XDA, 02 May 2024Wrong, many people upgrade their phones every year or even ... moreYeah i am wrong cause you say that "many people" change tech like normal people change socks.
There are lots of things many people do. From your statement the many people means the majority of phone users
How much is this many people ? There are minority groups in our world who also use the phrase that many people agree with their life choices.

pl2rts, 02 May 2024Not worth updating any phone before 2 years minimum use. ... moreWrong, many people upgrade their phones every year or even less. If you're a tech user or enjoy tech there's no reason to wait 2 years to upgrade your device.

JimmyTheGreatest, 02 May 2024Do you feel comfortable doing your banking in a custom ROM,... moreDo you also feel comfortable doing your banking in a ROM that also made by some unknown people from China (or whatever country your phone brand home)?
Also, in most cases, custom ROM is more "open" than stock ROM that installed on my device.
So, at this point, custom ROM is more trustable than built-in one.

If you have too much money and dont know what to do with it then you can change your top end flagship every year to get new featured cameras or something
But to change these middle class phones yearly makes no sense. Especially with these F series from Poco that are basically flagship performance

xtd, 02 May 2024I thought Redmi Note 13 Turbo already exists? Just under a ... moreIt feels like you just stepped in the mobile phone tech site for the first time in your life or something. Xiaomi have rebranded their phone for a long time already for different markets.
Poco F5 year ago was rebrand of Redmi note 12 Turbo. Now Poco F6 will be rebrand of Redmi Turbo 3. Just like Poco X6 Pro was rebrand of Redmi K70E
These rebranding make it easier for customers out side of China. When you go to mobile shop and see the Poco in there you can be sure it's built for European market standards and also have all the internet bands with it.
6 years ago when i got my Redmi note 5 AI there was a serious need to look trough description to be sure that there will have B20 band.

JimmyTheGreatest, 02 May 2024Do you feel comfortable doing your banking in a custom ROM,... moreI'm using custom ROMs exclusively since I bought my first phone 10 years ago. So I know what ROM to download or what not to. To get more confidence, we can download official Lineage OS ROM instead of random Telegram ROMs also.
