Backing Up and Restoring or things similar to it always cause problems. I recently migrated data from Xiaomi Note 8 Pro to Galaxy 10 Plus. Everything was transfered including all the rubbish... So, I had to reset Note 10 Plus and set it up as a new phone... It's better now...
Restore points on PC's don't work properly either... I always turn it off...

      I was hoping the improvement to be the migration of app DATA and SETTINGS!
      Something that has been possible with tools like Titanium backup for 100 years!

      The fact that this is NOT makes moving to a new phone or doing a factory reset an incredible tedious task.

        I wonder after having so much data collected from user,is it possible to just download that data onto new phone instead of migrating from older phone??

          Meh. Android native transfer utility sucks. It can never transfer app data in my experience, only calls and SMS. If you use chat apps like Line, WeChat, etc you still have to manually transfer them. In the end, it's better to just start fresh as you will have to reload most things manually anyway

          This is in contrast with iOS. When upgrading to a new iPhone, when you restore your backup, it's as if you never left not sure why Android couldn't do a straight one to one backup of all data like iOS.

            Long overdue! I've lost so many brain nerves on each phone migration. I hope it works for all app settings and configs too now. Should have been included in android since day one, instead of masses of people having to root their phones just to have a basic function even windows 95 to 98 upgrade did better.

                This should be a basic feature since Lollipop and Google should be ashamed for being this late.

                  I transferred a record 512GB microSD card from one phone to another in around 50 seconds. And Google is definitely a worthy competitor, even though its gonna lose this one.. :)
