That's lower than the current iPad Pros.

Anonymous, 09 May 2024Burn in, black circles, black smearing, green tint off-axis... moreSorry, but your opinion seems to be coming from someone who never used OLED
I tried various device with OLED myself, and while i cannot say theyre perfect they were better than led/lcd device.
Mostly because OLED device seems to be aimed at mostly people with more cash, but theyre mostly feels more premium compared to most lcd device on same generation
Theres a budget option OLED phone but theyre for different purpose that it doesnt different much from lcd other than color.

As for the screen burn in problem, lcd have problem with their display too. In fact, more often than my OLED device. Like lightsaber because of defective rnd, screen lifting, dust inside screen etc. Mostly because they feel more half heartly Made compared to OLED

Theres a reason why OLED is mostly in premium y know, and it was well deserved it. A true actual good device, even if its tv or monitor for solely displaying purpose is a combination of feature, processor, rnd etc and i found OLED one is Made more wholeheartly (mostly). Its a combination of everything that Made the device that it made ends up really good, and that why OLED is still a top in premium device for a reason

Anonymous, 09 May 2024Burn in, black circles, black smearing, green tint off-axis... moreBurn-ins can occur. That's a known issue. The image quality of OLED screens is far superior to that of LCD screens, though. As for Mini LED displays, they can't compare to OLED screens. For example, how can a 4K mini-LED displays with about 5,000 local dimming zones have a chance against a 4K OLED displays with about 8 million pixels that can be individually turned off? Also, Mini LED displays can have horrible blooming. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ipad-pro-blooming-discussion-merged.2297334/

Anonymous, 08 May 2024What do you mean by burned by? OLED is great, by the way.Burn in, black circles, black smearing, green tint off-axis, … I experienced all of this first hand, which is enough for me to conclude that OLED sucks and IPS LCD is the way to go. For lower end and lighter weight devices with edge lit backlighting and PFS phosphor or quantum dots, as well as IPS black (2000:1 contrast), and on bigger and higher end devices with advanced mini LED backlight. IPS LCD just does its job and it does it well, without having to take any precautions like not watching content with static elements. There is a reason digital signages that are made to run 16/7, 20/7 or even 24/7 use this technology.

Anonymous, 08 May 2024I‘ve been burned by OLED enough times. Time for this awful ... moreI don't think leaving the tech behind is a good idea, especially when people are trying to make it better and the pros outweigh the cons. The double stack OLEDs like in the iPad Pro could be one of the things that alleviate problems like burn-in. Every win is a step in the right direction.

It's also important to say that LCD technologies have also been advancing at the same time. The cutting edge of both technologies are more similar than what most people realise. But of course you're not gonna get an ultra high-end LCD on a smartphone when people see the tech as "inferior" even if it's a pro grade super colour accurate and factory calibrated screen.

Every display tech has problems, there's no perfect technology. But improving is always possible.

Anonymous, 08 May 2024I‘ve been burned by OLED enough times. Time for this awful ... morepersonally, never had issues with oled burn in, on a 3yo note 10 pro, but my mom's 2yo realme 9 has some on the notifications area (after a year), and that's only cause her phone is at 100% brightness all the time, and mine auto.

Good news for tandem OLED prices...

If a big player like apple can mass produce enough of them it should drive the prices down overtime

Anonymous, 08 May 2024I‘ve been burned by OLED enough times. Time for this awful ... moreI'm getting a really bad feeling that things are gonna worse in future unless govt authorities interfere & stop such practices.

Already MicroSD,3.5mm Jacks are almost gone.now RAM,SSD,Batteries are being soldered so that users can't upgrade, customer would've to buy a new product & because of serialisation of parts customers got no choice other than going to official service store for every repair.
All these are pesky tricks to get easy money out of unfortunate customers.

But whats next after all that??
They've got to find something else.
In that case i guess they're gonna push for the Cloud storage, entire storage of data & even games/apps are gonna run on cloud.
Physical storage is one time investment while cloud is subscription based, you'll have to pay them every month to use the storage all while literally owning your entire data.all this seem too good for corporates to ignore.

                    Let's see what happens next.

I‘ve been burned by OLED enough times. Time for this awful anti-consumer technology to be buried in the history books, along with soldered RAM/SSD and glued batteries. But we are probably 10 years away, even though we were there 10 years before. Really an awful time for tech.
