Having said that with the V2 chip from reviews it does actually seem to perform well and most reviews have it outperforming the larger sensor in the IQOO 12. The imx920 is a disappointing main sensor for this year though like you said compared to the competition even if it performs as well as the competition. They could have been ahead of the competition if they used a better main sensor.

They have already started to more away from Sony sensors this year to Omnivision ones in some phones in their flagship series. That will gather pace next year with the likes of the Xiaomi 15 ultra likely to switch to omnivision for the main sensor.

Personally, I'd be happy enough with the top screens from the top Chinese manufacturers if it means the phone is slightly cheaper or they spend the savings elsewhere like on the cameras for example. I've never been overly picky for screens though as long as they aren't too hard on the eyes.

The screens on all top tier phones are all excellent. So the only thing that interests me is whether it'll be flat or another curved nonsense.

The Vivo X100s is severely nerfed compared to others in its class just because of one thing, the main cam. The Oneplus 12 has a bigger main sensor and surprisingly so does the IQOO 12. This phone may have been far better if it had the V3 chip instead of the V2. I think this is again an upsell just like the X100 was.
The X100s Pro seems like the phone with the least changes, just the SOC.
The X100 Ultra has 5500 mah battery!?!?! If the 8 Gen 3 is more efficient this'll most likely be the new battery king considering the X100 Pro was already superb. 20W slower charging is acceptable if they cram more battery, still nearly double the speed of Samsung.
I don't understand Vivo though honestly. They have weird products and the products are starting to blend and just take each others' share I believe. The Neo9/Neo9 Pro have the same main cam as the X100, the IQOO 12 has a bigger main sensor than the X100 and the same UW and telephoto cams. Only the V2/V3 chip is missing. Like if someone doesn't need a telephoto the Chinese Neo9 Pro is basically an X100 without the imaging chip.
They make good midrangers, amazing flagship killers and amazing flagships as well but that's just starting to blend stuff into each other. I think it's good though, they're differentiating stuff with some small but important details and still have people buy the more expensive phones.
That just goes to show predatory tactics like the ones from Samsung (nerfing the base S phones with worse cameras, battery, chip and display), Apple (Using older chips, 60 hz and no telephotos on their base phones) and Google (software locking out features on the base pixel and not having telephoto sensors to make the Pro more enticing) are just there to FORCE consumers to buy better phones and instead Vivo can give the consumer the right/power to choose what they want. Funny how the Chinese manufacturers are giving choices and the western/western affiliated companies are taking away choices/freedom.

5500mAh is a huge improvement over x90 pro+, battery was my only complain with x90, i don't know how they managed to fit such a big battery with such big camera sensors but I'm ordering it right away

To device using Snapdragon and Samsung display is basically Vivo admitting themselves their domestic products are inferior. Just like Samsung using 8gen3 in their Ultra phones.
Also, not impressed with the brick x100 pro so the ultra won't be any different.

If true, X100 Ultra likely to use the same screen as the Iqoo 12 Pro and the X100 Pro and vanilla variants could use the same as the Iqoo 12.
