Aierlan, 10 May 2024It's not worth it. Apple is too dominant and it's... moreapple is only dominant because of the android shadow ban in US
most popular models dont come here

Well, Huawei supposed to be the dominator in 2020 if no intercept from US govt.

WhoCaresTM, 10 May 2024Apart from Huawei, what prevents others from selling in the US?It's not worth it. Apple is too dominant and it's not worth their while investing a lot of money in entering the US market and doing deals with carriers when they probably wouldn't make any money. They are better off focusing on other larger emerging markets that are more likely to bring success and higher profits in the future. Makes total financial sense to avoid the US

Anonymous, 10 May 2024The threat of being banned if they tried doing business in ... moreMost didn't do business there when there was no threat of a ban so it's not like they withdrew from the market or anything due to this. They know it's hard to make money there, which is the main reason. Oneplus has been there for quite a few years but it's difficult for them to make any significant impact. No point for most in entering as they just won't make any money and making money is the purpose of their existence

US people hate buying new phone every year. Every i phone was mean to be keep for 3 -5 years..even longer than that.

Always these very funny quarterly comparisons!
I know it's common practice in the industry, but it's proven to be complete bullshit.
What does Q1 2023 have to do with Q1 2024? It's already a year later and a different time.
Then you might as well compare Q1 1996 with Q1 2024, the significance is just as idiotic as comparing Q1 2023 with Q1 2024.

Well no shit - can we start talking about what appears to be an effective android vendors ban in US? 90% of good android deals can't be sold here

                            Americans love monopolies and duopolies.

Because smartphones nowadays are good enough. Even ones that are 2-3 years old. Photos are ok from most of them. I would like to see more love in the battery department. So that premium device can last for 3 days. That would be a game-changer for me.
