Motorola Razr 50 Ultra / Razr+ 2024 specs leak

13 May 2024
It's the next high-end Razr.

For this kind of phone, 8s Gen 3 makes a lot more sense. There's no point giving 8K/30fps video recording support on a phone with a relatively small battery. Heck, I don't even mind if Motorola stepped down a tier and go for 7+ Gen 3.

Not a lot, but they are better. A 3x telephoto is nothing amazing as Samsung's FE series shows. Maybe Moto is saving higher zoom ranges for the Ultra.

Two main things to be improved, OS support and stronger folding mechanism.

Had these two and instead of the flip 5 I would have chosen the RAZR instead. The external screen integration is way better than the one Samsung implemented. And yes, hardware here matters a lot

The ma... moreIt's no so bad if you hav a 50MP main sensor with 2x optical - the resolution is high enough that you should be able to run an additional 2x-3x digital zoom (putting total zoom at 4x-6x) and still get great images.

Much like how Samsung moved from a lower res 10x optical camera on the S23 Ultra to a higher res 5x optical cam on the S24 Ultra and yet the newer phone still takes better shots at 10x even though half of that zoom is digital.

Sure 3x would be nicer, but end of the day this IS a foldable phone after all, and having any form of optical zoom camera is a step in the right direction.

8s gen 3 is like going backwards, worse than 8 gen 2. What's Lenovo doing?

If you decide to put a telephoto, at least use a 3x. The main camera must be pathetic to not be able to shoot a decent 2x.

Anonymous, 14 May 2024Gladly Nah, I'd take that over a pathetic 2x telephoto.

                            justasmile, 14 May 2024Wait, no ultrawide camera?Gladly

Would prefer if they just gave it the good ol' trio: wide, ultra-wide and a 2/3x telephoto.

8s Gen 3 for 999 USD is crazy, considering that the 7 Gen 1 Razr 40 is going no less than 600 USD. Make this phone 750 USD officially and then I will have interest. Motorola is not cooking. Neither is Asus lol.

For those unaware, Asus is in hot water because they tried to milk money out a warranty. Apparently, Gamer Nexus sent Asus a warranty claim about his ROG Ally left thumbstick tweaking out*. He sent the device in and got a response saying that a minor LCD panel fix would be about 200 USD before they can even get to the issue he was concerned about. 200 dollars for a MINOR issue is bonkers. Like no way. To make matters even worse, Asus was even more concerned about the LCD than the actual problem. They tried to milk Gamer Nexus out of money. Please watch the video to find out for yourself.

TL;DR, Asus tried to scam Gamer Nexus for a minor issue he didn't care about. He made a half hour video on it, go watch it.

*tweaking out is slang used in the US, where an object or someone starts acting out of order or goes crazy

I'm sticking with Pixels now that the Edge 30 and 40 series are still waiting for Android 14. The charging may be slower and there's Tensor, but the superior camera and updates make Pixels a smarter choice.

That is super. Can't wait to see the photo quality against the galaxy flip 6. Or see if there is an improvement from last years model razr 2023 photos.

All phones with dual cam should be this way
