Cpt.Power, 14 May 2024Bro that have nothing to do with a phone. Ever heard abou... moreAre you for real? Did you just suggestion gym exercises for smartphone usage? Dude, you got some issues. You shouldnt be using two hands to be able to do whatever you want on your phone. Those devices are just some tools to make your life easir, enjoyable. You shouldnt be going to the gym and exercise for it. That was one of the dumbest suggestion i have ever heard.

atichko, 14 May 2024It's not garbage in the full sense of the word. Any cu... moreYeah. The shortcomings of Tensor processors have been blown out of proportion, i feel. True, it doesn't win any performance awards, but it is more than enough for everyday tasks. Also, the efficiency is lower than Snapdragon chips based on TSMC node, but it is not so bad either.

For example, Samsung S23 and Pixel 8 have pretty similar battery life (GSMArena and DXOMark tests). S23 has a 3900 mAH battery while Pixel 8 has 4575 mAH. So Pixel 8 consumes around 15-20% more power (averaged over various tasks), to compensate for which, Google has included a larger battery. The end result for users is a slightly heavier phone (675mAH additional battery capacity would add 8-10gm extra weight). Now it comes to individual preference whether they can stomach the extra weight or not. I for one wouldnot mind much carrying the extra 10 gm, given the fantastic camera and great software experience in Pixel phones.

Cpt.Power, 14 May 2024Longer support is useless if your hardware cant keep up wit... moreAnd you assume that a significant percentage of users play games on their phones let alone resource-demanding ones? I've not gamed in more than 6 years and I know a lot of people who either don't have a single game on their phone or have but virtually don't launch them.

Flagship processors have grown so much in potency in the last couple of years. I reckon that 7 years from now, SD 8 Gen 3 would still be powerful enough to drive most regular apps and games.

Anonymous, 14 May 2024Keep using big phones and your wrists and hands will thank ... moreBro that have nothing to do with a phone.
Ever heard about excercsises, gym training, finger training or making push ups with just fingers??? Probably no then you have health and stamina issues.

Once again small phones are useless you cant cram big specs into a small phone and your so called carpal tunnel health problems could find you no matter the phone you use.
By the way for safety of my phone i always use both hands when using my phone not a single one.
For a single hand use please buy something like Nokia 105 and stop being nuissance for others.

Anonymous, 14 May 2024Keep using big phones and your wrists and hands will thank ... moreExactly. Eye strain from a smaller display can be fixed with glasses, which one should get anyway when they don’t see well. Carpal tunnel from a heavy phone can not be fixed easily. There is surgery but do people really want to go through surgery because they could not do without half an inch of display or a few hundred mAh of battery. That’s insanity to me. 6.7 inch phones need to be the exception not the norm. Below 6.5 inch should be a standard available size.

Limerain, 14 May 2024Why doesn't google move away from these garbage tensor... moreIt's not garbage in the full sense of the word. Any custom chip has growing pains although in this case it seems to take much longer than others doing the same. Either Google invests more time and money in a very serious way or, as you say, it should go back to Qualcomm products. Using a 7A currently I cannot say it's a bad chip. It isn't slow at all. It's not a gaming phone however and the power efficiency is certainly not the strong point. As some alluded to I can indeed relate to a comparison with the SD 8 gen 1/+1 in terms of performance (including the added bonus of keeping your handpalm warm :-) as it does get mildly toasty).
