Enjoy your compact phone with mile... moreSamsung S24 size and weight is very interesting, but no 3.5 mm jack AND microSD card slot = no buy for the 10 series target audience. Also too expensive, why 5 series is also not an option for myself (and many others).

Pixel 8a is more expensive and has none of that (although part of its hardware is superior, of course).

I myself do not even consider getting the Pixel 8 or 8a (or Samsung S24, for that matter), but the 10 VI is probably going to be my next phone, finally replacing my 5-year old Samsung Galaxy A40 :]

Also, the 5 / 1 series are just is too expensive (and series 1 is too big, also)

blacknail, 15 May 2024Thanks for the Nokia X30 tip, but it's bigger, heavier... moreStill, it uses the same chipset as the G84, but it has a better update policy and a significantly better IP rating. The newer G84 would unsurprisingly get capped at Android 14 for all, if not most markets when the Nokia X30 gets at least a year of software patches after Android 15. Also, there's a polished aluminum unibody with a frosted plastic back on the X30, while the G84 settles down with a plastic unibody and a PMMA back. The X30 is better in terms of battery optimization and has a Li-Po battery, when the G84 would drain itself in idle with a theoretically bigger Li-Ion battery (in usual Motorola fashion).

The only series I'd suggest anybody to get is the Edge series, because Motorola basically rebrands the same Wingtech inventory under BBK and Samsung and calls it a day.

I understand that real fanboys still buy every Xperia 1 because they love their brand. But who is in for the Xperia 10? No one should ever buy into this as long as there are phones like the pixel 7a or 8a...

Pretty neat upgrade from its predecessor except 60hz panel. I bet people are going to buy this phone for their elderly parents or as a backup device so the refresh rate is not a big deal.

Honestly, a 60Hz display in 2024 is damn shameful. Pair that with a subpar cpu, this unit won't sell. I wanted it to be a great phone, I wanted to buy it, but I just can't go back to a damn 60Hz screen.
