Keep it instead and release 6G.

They want to force people to have new generation smartphones.

        Of course......

It's always Australia that makes ridiculous cost-cutting decisions like this. In some ways I really do have an intense loathing for Australia. Like how Aussies argue that electric stoves are superior over gas-grill stoves; this is the most backwards logic I've ever heard.

I worry about battery life when 4G is full in use.

For people saying "4G will shut down":

For 5G to be efficient you need a line of clear sight between the device and the transmitter, which will forever be a problem.

4G has great penetration and reach into buildings and structures and will never be shut down, although it may receive improvements and new names.

With LTE advanced and 3 carrier aggregation(20MHz^3), you can have speeds of up to 200Mbit/sec or more. 5G for me isn't that big of a deal.
Shutting down 3G is kind of a Good thing, because devices these days are using LTE for basically everything.
LTE isn't shutting down any time soon, so it's a Win-Win.

                        This is completely FALSE statement
                        1. The reason that 4G is way better in reliability for you is because you have lots of 4G Base Station with small number of 5G. That's why the 4G feels more reliable.
                        2. Perhaps you're carrier using a mmWaves 5G which have bad signal penetration.

Rbx, 15 May 2024And also 5G drains battery quickly, 4G is more than enough ... moreIndeed. Even I find 4g to be enough for my needs. When it works that is . 5G is out of the question in my area anyway.

HAHA IN MY COUNTRY THE Department of Communications and Digital Transformation has set 31 December 2027 as the deadline for the total shutdown of 2G and 3G networks in the country. At least we got more 3 years to go

In my country, operators are slowly shutting down 3G service and kept and improved 2G coverage for voice call for older device or that doesn't support VoLTE. 5G hasn't rolled out yet and I think 5G is a lost investment and very costly for general purpose. Govt. Should enroll 5G for industrial use only and keep regular people away from this overrated technology. Even network provider are not showing that much of an interest for 5G due to complicated network infrastructure and huge cost. Most importantly very few people have 5G enabled phone.

If 4G lasts as long as 3G did, 4G-only devices will lose the ability to connect by around 2030. Thats ~6 years so we have time to relax.
