Anonymous, 17 May 2024the app is going to be banned soon in US, who's gonna ... moreDont be so sure of that. As they try to force the Tiktok be sold to US citizen or investor but it be a long time and if the next President will be Trump then he does not support this strategy of force them to sell there platform as he understand probably the best on how corrupt the media in Western world is.
The amount of hate we have seen trough all the media past year towards him is absurd. Especially by the people who support hate speech laws show the hate the most

Great news!
I wonder if they'll make it easy for youtube content creators to mirror their stuff.
With apps like Grayjay it won't matter which platform is used. You'll keep following creators.

This is a good idea, of course Tiktok should do it, if their users want it, then Tiktok would should allow this to rollout. I have wondered back in like 2015, why there was no alternative to youtube or twitter. Vimeo was the only other website I knew but it was horrible. Laggy and so many ads. If the ban to the US does ever finalize, Europeans, Asians, and Latin Americans, will still keep it TikTok alive. I feel Canada might follow the US and slowly ban it too.
The more options TikTok can give users LIKE youtube the better it will gain followers.

Competition is good, especially against totalitarian youtube. My problem is with those 15 second brain rot dancing videos etc.

The US will ban them for good if they compete with Youtube. Hahaha
But competition is good. Tech gatekeeping is not.

Because other than music videos and educational content, Youtube videos are too long.

Even a 15-sec video can become a 1-min (or longer) video when said video doesn't have media playback buttons. *coughs* YT shorts *coughs*
