Tech Guy, 26 May 2024There's vast difference. Clock Speed, ISP, Gaming Grap... moreWhat is the ISP difference? There doesn't seam to be much difference, if any between the ISPs. Both are 18-bit triple ISP. Both are labelled with Qualcomm Spectra™ Cognitive ISP features. Both have the following:
Real-time Semantic Segmentation for photo/video frame with up to 12 layers
Snapdragon® Low Light Vision (LLV) records crisp, grain-free content—even in near darkness
The 7+gen 3 lists the following which isn't listed on the 8s gen 3: Video Super Resolution provides digital zoom capabilities for sharp, clear footage—even from far away
The 8s gen 3 lists support for AV1 video codec playback which isn't listed on the 7+gen 3.
I think it's likely they are the same or so similar that any differences are completely negligible.

This is majority selling point for 8s Gen 3 vs 7+ Gen 3

With more smartphone brands going for 8s Gen 3 instead of 7+ Gen 3, I wonder if Qualcomm has made a mistake by messing up the inventory line. Both SoCs aren't much different except for the absence of AV1 codec support in the latter.

TechJocky, 24 May 2024A downgrade compared to last year's models The cameras are a big upgrade. Screen is a micro curved screen also upgrade. Definitely one of the best phones in this offline type of phone category at least in terms of hardware it's much better than Oppo's Reno 12 pro, Vivo's upcoming s19 pro and Xiaomi's Civi 4 pro. These would be the main competitors in China at least. Probably will be more expensive though given the much better specs

Next year wishing for a 2MP Macro sensor along with it,infused with super-useful AI features to make it even better-"Triple AI Selfie cam setup"

This series never uses the latest flagship chip in the pro model. Usually it uses a previous generation flagship chip but this year it's using the 8s gen3 which is at a similar level to the previous generation flaghship chip in any case. Pretty good camera hardware on the pro model. Similar to the magic 6 camera setup. Don't think they launched the pro model globally (or at least not in Europe) for the previous few generations so this seems like a change in strategy
