One UI 6.1.1 to bring a lot of camera updates to the Galaxy S24 Ultra

27 May 2024
It's deemed to be the biggest update for the device since its release.

nino77ns, 29 May 2024Samsung constantly promises improvements... and then you do... moreExactly this, I bought the S22 ultra for the so called "nightography" (LOL) and it was such a let down. I'd been a Samsung user since the S2 and when I bought imported the Oppo find X7 ultra a couple of months ago it was the biggest single upgrade I've ever had (with Samsung I always found the new phone feeling wore off after like 3 days, I think that's down to the software TBH)

Samsung constantly promises improvements... and then you don't see anything in particular. they advertised night photography so much ... and you see that between 22ultra 23 ultra and 24 ultra have almost no difference in the pictures... so only marketing and nothing more. Night-like skies often have waves of green purple blue... because no breed of 1000e can afford that... we buy crap

yes, perhaps its possible that the device's first feature update might be the biggest update since it's release 🙄
Are actual tech enthusiasts writing these articles, or is it just writers who know nothing about this stuff? or is it AI?

zangetsu, 28 May 2024The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a nice variable-aperture. They say ... moreyeah I like that phone but I prefer Oppo because of their human subject processing. I really hate how Xiaomi processes human subjects in both normal photo mode and portrait mode but mostly due to portrait mode. I love taking portrait mode shots and Oppo's the best imo. If I didn't mostly take photos of human subjects then yeah I'd have had the Xiaomi on the list but Xiaomi's battery is poor for a top tier flagship in 2024 imo and I reaaallly need good battery. Hopefully next year's phones will have great battery.

I wish to fix and the annoying warning text of humidity that doesn't let me charge my S24 Ultra by wire despite I never used the phone in water or any water contact!!!Samsung is nothing for me right now!!!

That's why I bought the S24U when my budget allowed me to do so. I can do more with this S24U. I am pretty sure I won't buy Samsung again for a long time. I have only bought two Samsung products in my entire life.

I've been overall impressed with my past Samsung phones, but this can feel like a double edged sword at times. Their flagships was always never completely optimized upon release, and cameras are usually much improved with software updates 6-12months in. Some might see it as a "free upgrade" while the narcissists will see it as poor software. Depends how you see it I guess.

its a smurf, 28 May 2024What phone do you use now?S22 Ultra. This phone was so mid that I was even thinking about buying the S21 Ultra because that phone looked better to me and I really like that aspect ratio but I've loved the Note series from the start so I couldn't resist going for this phone.

Here everyone talking about sensor quality and processing. But not a single person do not mention about lens quality which is main factor of capturing details. Any sensor can capture high quality details with good quality lens.

again when will Samsung launch snapdragon processors with A series.

jiyen235, 28 May 2024Wow man, if the update brings a lot of camera improvements,... moreI am so sick and tired of this word 'fanboy' it's so childish. What's wrong with liking what we want to like?? Is it a crime or so bad that someone likes Samsung or Apple?? I'm sure you have your own favourites too. It seems people these days are judged on what they like in life and it's completely stupid and wrong

xslvrxslwt, 27 May 2024S24U Vs FX7U https://ibb.co/hVynVFj No matter how muc... morewas about to ask which one the Samsung was and I opened the link and immediately recognized it. I've used Samsung phones for a decade or so now so I know how their processing looks and they went shit after Note20/S21.

What happens is they "try" to aggressively get rid of the noise, they fail miserably and there's still noise AND detail is lost, then they aggressively sharpen the photo and their exposure handling is even worse, there's literally no contrast because they lift the shadows to "balance" the pics. There's no dynamic range, look at the trees, they look gray in the Samsung and black in the Oppo, true dynamic range.

Samsung's sensors aren't the main problem, it's their processing, Oppo can make a 1/1.56" sensor look closer to Samsung's 1/1.3" I'd say. So add bad sensors on top of horrendous processing you get the perfect recipe for disastrous photos. The only saving grace for my S22 Ultra was gcam, because of it I'm reluctant to upgrade because newer phones, although they are good, aren't THAT good compared to the gcam shots I take. Gcam just opened my eyes, the sensors aren't that bad, Samsung just processes them horribly. I also felt more comfy using the pro mode and yeah, even my SDR pro mode shots are better than Samsung's "maximum intelligent processing" turned on for their HDR photos.

BTW how'd you get both the S24U and the FX7U? Do you own both? The Find X7 U is a dream phone but I'm waiting for variable aperture, I'll buy that instantly if it happens lol.

Wow man, if the update brings a lot of camera improvements, what will the Samsung fanboys do? Wasn't the phone "perfect already"?? Everyone on youtube and stuff just glazed Samsung, are they gonna make the phone imperfect now then?

Anyways, I think it's good that there's gonna be updates but Samsung ain't gonna be good again. They struck gold with the Note20 Ultra's processing and then decided to go back on it and become more and more artificial/overprocessed as days go by. The Note20 Ultra still puts up a great fight with these "cameraphones". They can't even easily beat a 4 year old phone, best phone of the year everybody!! Why buy anything else??? MKBHD and Mrwhosetheboss should stop their glazing fr
