AnonD-131108, 02 Jul 2013If Nokia want to grow up, then Nokia should work on Hardwar... moreThats the beauty of an optimised OS..
No need to have powerful hardware to work.
So, engineers can concentrate on external customisation and design, and save on cost. (ie. Save that 2gb on giving more storage / or better camera components)
While android excel at internal customisation at the expense of speed (Which makes all entry level droid junk). WP8/iOS can build good device at any size and price and yet have that minium user experience expected.

I am a NOKIA 808 PUREVIEW user and I don't think it will be that easy for Nokia to opt for android because they have the best mobile gps navigation apps, amazing apps like city lens and the top order Nokia music where you can download and stream music at low data rates,,, and what does google jave except maps and a crappy buggy os with only a handfull of games and other loads of useless cheap games and apps which only increase the quantity and not the quality... It will be hard for nokia to sacrifice their services but lets see what happens next !!! What do you guys think ??

If Nokia want to grow up, then Nokia should work on Hardware too, should have slim hardware's, we can see still Nokia don't have single phone with 2GB ram, that's negative point,. Windows OS is awesome, an another kind of user interface.

The Real Facts, 02 Jul 2013The thing to remember is this "analyst" is he wor... moreEverything takes time to be adopted.
No one tops the list at day 1. And it takes even longer and more resistance if there are good stuff already on the market.
Its foolish for Nokia to go android and get beaten by top hardware makers who can sell it cheaper.
Now at least customer can relate, want WP8 go Nokia and built a fan base, and once enough leverage comes, app makers will be convince and start developing apps for WP8.
It has nothing to do with tiles/ lockdown or watever BS. See Apple is doing so well despite that.

617 comments is crazy . But i would still go with nokia 's move . Rather than to blend in, they want to stand out. Risky, but will pay off in long run . Even if they manage to sell 10 million phones , they are on track . They gave themselves a chance to be unique and different .

Wat will happen if nokia with its rich physical feature and low memory comes to adapt android? Either the phone will get priced more than iphone or will keep getting hang everytime you power it on. Poop nokia.

The thing to remember is this "analyst" is he works for an investment research firm. Should we be surprised that the research firm has both buy side and sell side companies as well as a brokerage firm?
In addition, if you bother to read some of the other articles he's posted, it seems neither he nor his company do much in the way of detailed research.
Fact is this is news which is almost a year old, with a new spin on the Nokia earnings release:
http://www.technobuffalo.com/2012/08/30/consumers-dont-want-windows-phone-devices-says-analyst/
http://bgr.com/2012/08/29/windows-phone-analysis-nokia-bernstein/
Wow, now that's insightful, "people just don't want windows phones." You'd think a professional research firm could qualify that a bit. Oh, I guess you need to pay about 20k for something like that.
If I filter out the trolls and fanboy comments I can get a clear picture of why Nokia phones aren't selling.
1. Tiles. Some people like them, but most don't.
2. Customization. You can't.
3. Applications. Well behind Apple and Android.
4. Microsoft's Mobile Os strategy. Fail. Fail. Fail.
5. Access to files. Locked down almost as tight as Apple.
Nokia builds great hardware, but the people who've been in charge of the os operations have been clueless. Elop wanted to give his buddies at Microsoft a shot and so far it's not working.

paco2x, 02 Jul 2013Umm WP could be old fashioned, but you know... It works out... moreYes.
Top 3.
Apple / iOS
Nokia / WP8
Samsung / Android
Each for choice. If Nokia where to complete in the android.. it will only hurt itself.

I like the build quality and camera of Nokia. If they ship an Android phone, it would be very difficult to resist.

Umm WP could be old fashioned, but you know... It works out the box, no tinkering and such, yes it have shortcomings but many people want simplicity and fluid experience. And that's good because if you want a full customizable phone you choose Android, want a trendy phone? Choose iPhone and if you want a fluid and good looking UI choose WP.
I think it will ugly if mobile market is restricted to just two options, the more players the merrier.

The reason i feel WP OS is smooth because it has only pseudo-multitasking.You can open only 5 apps at the same time.If you open 6th app then app which you opened first will close. This is not the case with android where you can open multiple apps which causes lag
